“Outstanding Value in Downtown Aspen”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2014

I don't know why the Mountain House has cheap, yes--cheap, summer accommodation 2 blocks from downtown Aspen, but it does. I was suspect, and was most pleasantly surprised by excellent service, top level accommodation with Ajax views from my balcony, a most perfect big soft bed, and an excellent continental breakfast. Get there before this disappears.

Stayed here one night in late May, in order to visit Maroon Bells park, which is 15 mins away. Great location, walking distance to everywhere in Aspen. Free Parking!

Compared to some of the fancy hotels in Aspen, this one had great reviews and you can't beat the price. The staff was polite and nice, and they gave great pointers on where to grab a quick bite, or a beer. It's off season, so a lot of the restaurants were closed or had short hours.

The room was standard. Nothing fancy. However, this is not a typical B&B where you have a homey room, and a great breakfast. The breakfast here is more continental.

I came down for a week for a business trip and I fell in love with this place. Great customer service. Thanks Mike for everything and letting me know we're a lot of the cool places were around town. The rooms very comfortable and clean. This place feels like home away from home. Thanks guys keep up the great work. I definitely know where I'm going to stay next time I go to Aspen.

Having just spent one night here off season I can see how this place must be packed during season. Linda at front desk was very nice and explained Aspen very well to a first timer. A great deal for what you pay

Linda, Pat, Skye and Mike make this more like a visit to a family home than a hotel. Part B&B part hotel its comfortable and reasonable $. I've been here 9 days and feel at home and well taken care of

Stayed here in mid march with my teenage daughter. Room was clean and the 2 double beds
We're very comfortable with good linens and pillows. They have free shuttle to and from the airport which was nice. Very quiet and within walking distance to everything. You do not need a car.
One tip. It is a about a 6 block walk to Ruby park to catch the buses to snowmas or the highlands.
You do not want to walk this far with your ski boots on. For 5 bucks a night there is a ski storage
Place in the street level mall to the right of the gondola entrance. Enter at the testosterone
Store entrance, it's at the end inside. They will even dry your boots if necessary. Also, if
You want to spend some bucks on a great meal check out the wild fig. Also Jimmy's place bar.
Eat in the bar not the restaurant.

Room Tip: Room 520 good view 2 double beds

This is such an wonderful trip over all. I m from Dallas Texas and i went over to Normal OK. to visit some friends during spring break, it just came to us that we should do some thing over the weekend so the 6 of us decided to go skiing on Thursday night . It was actually the first time I've met 3 of the members of the group and on a such short planned trip things did not start well for us. Fortunately as we got to the hotel, the fantastic staff here helped us get almost everything ready. Thanks to the staff here, we found really cheap gloves. under 20 a piece at really good quality (warm, well suited for our needs), helped us gather cooking gears for some fast noodles, even allowed us to stay in the hot tube over regular running hours. For this trip to be even slightly successful, i can't imagine doing it without the perfect staff here with the perfect attitude. Although a very short trip (only 2 days), it sure was a memorable experience overall. We will definitely come over again on a much more well planned trip and will definitely stay at Mountain House Lodge again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Mountain House Suite, largest room in hotel for 4 people, although we had 6 members...
