When we arrived to the hotel the front desk clerk was no where to be found, when we called the # on the door she said she out shopping! The rooms were extremely spooky, and made you feel as if you were in a scary movie! There were strange mahican heads sitting around with black wigs. There is NO air adjustment in rooms, There is one adjustment for all rooms ! You will hear loud noises all night , as well as people on the street, the biggest night club in town is right across from the hotel! There is No one to help with luggage, not a big deal if there was an elevator, you must go up a large flight of Stairs to all rooms! I'm very easily pleased and was saddened by the experience here, we have stayed at other places in Aspen & have Always been pleased! The doors didn't work properly, our key wouldn't work! The staff had to enter another room to gain access to ours! We had no ability to lock the adjoining room out! T

Once we set foot into the Residence Hotel we knew there was something special about this hotel. First, the art and antiques displayed around the hotel are simply fantastic and provide something unique for every room in the hotel. Second, the location could not be any better. You have easy access to all the shopping and restaurants in town and only a short walk to the bus stop if you want to go to the other mountains. Heading back to the hotel was the perfect end to a perfect Christmas day of skiing. We will return!

We thought the place was exactly what "Aspen" should be. It was warm, quaint and friendly. My wife loved all the art and antiquities spread throughout the hotel. The room was large and included a walk-in closet with a beautifully updated bathroom. The staff was absolutely great and always made sure our every need was well tended.

This is very much one of the last "Aspen" hotels. Even the beautiful Jerome has converted their antique Victorian look into a more modern one. But we remain as antique and gorgeous as ever and hope to see you again in the future.

The Residence Hotel surpassed any expectations I may have had before going to Aspen for Thanksgiving, and my expectations were high. The hotel is filled with exotic art and decor and the atmosphere is warm, hospitable, social and like you are in a friendly private club. The staff foster this feeling and stand ready throughout your stay to make any of your dreams come true. I have never felt that I got more value for my dollar than I did during my stay at the The Residence. I give my highest recommendation to Terry Butler's "original" Residence Hotel, as this is the very best experience to be had in Aspen, CO.

What a wonderful review. And I agree that in a visit to Aspen, expectations are always going to be high, and we at The Residence are always going to rise to meet them. This 'original' hotel is still here and we hope to see you again soon!

This hotel is absolutely beautiful! When I visited here with my parents, they were just as shocked as I was to see an enormous amount of elegant art in our room. From paintings, to lamps and tables, they have it all to make you feel as if you're living the Aspen lifestyle. We were told by the owner that she has spent a great deal of time putting together each room with individually picked art from all over the world that she has collected. They had excellent and very courteous service making our family feel right at home. I will definitely come back soon! Thank you so much!

Our decor improves almost daily as I continue to dig up treasures from antique shops throughout the valley, and the world. I appreciate you taking the time to write us a review and do please come back soon.
