“Perfect spot for lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

On a girls weekend in Aspen, we wandered the town looking for the perfect lunch spot and were lucky enough to settle on Ute City.

There was a great seating area outside with welcoming couches, but as it was a bit chilly, we chose to eat inside. We were seated by the window and enjoyed the people watching as we ate.
Our server, Katie was attentive without being overbearing. She was friendly, had good knowledge of the menu and wine list and gave us some great ideas of what to do on our weekend. The owner was present and stopped by a couple of times to check on things.

Our meal was cooked to perfection, we shared a large salad and a pesto pasta dish. Both were served at the appropriate temperature and had wonderful flavors.

We would not hesitate to return to and recommend Ute City Bar and Grill next time visiting this beautiful town,

Sipping on a glass of wine while people-watching from our window is the perfect way to spend an afternoon, so we're thrilled we were able to provide a welcoming atmosphere for you and your friends! From the sounds of it, our food and service both hit the spot, and I couldn't be happier to hear it. You can be sure I'll pass along your compliments to Katie — we feel lucky to have her on our team, so your kind words are much appreciated. Thank you for the review and we'll hope to see you the next time you make your way to Aspen!

Cheers,

“Weird”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

Waited about an hour for a simple plate of pasta, for me, and a bowl of soup for my wife. Noise from the kitchen sounded as if they were having a great time back there. We were the only people in the dining room, even though it was around 6:00 p.m. A waitress who seemed to be more or less the person in charge of the restaurant brought bread but no butter--had to ask when she finally happened by after a long absence. A boy, little more than a teenager, wandered over from time to time to attempt casual, inquisitive conversation. When we finally were served, our plates were whisked away, with silverware, before we were ready to relinquish all the items. We almost left before being served, due to the endless wait, and when the woman who seemed to be in charge of the dining room spotted us, she miraculously appeared with the plate of pasta and seemed not to understand that an hour is too long to wait!

“Must have made some recent positive changes...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

I read many reviews as hubs and I were looking for a nice place in Aspen for a dinner date. I noticed this wasn't rated the highest or really even close, but when I read the reviews it looked like they were getting more positive reviews recently. We gave it a shot. No regrets. After drinks, entrees, and desserts our bill was $90 before a tip. Expensive, but around what we were looking to spend.

Didn't see the Asian waitress that people commented about. Our waiter was great and the waitress and the next table over looked like she was doing a great job. Made excellent recommendations and even made a special drink for me when nothing on the list was looking terribly appetizing.

The ribs melted in my mouth. The flat iron steak had some kind of sauce that I could have drank from a cup. Wonderful.

All in all, I would say slightly overpriced but a very good date night dinner. I would return.

“Relaxing afternoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013 via mobile

We stopped in just for a drink and stayed for several drinks and dinner. We ate at the bar. The bartender was attentive, helpful and poured a mean drink. We had burgers and fish tacos. Both yummy. Give it a try. You will be glad you did.

Our dinner menu is not to be missed, so I'm glad your quick stop-in turned into an all night affair, Gail! Friendly, attentive service is a cornerstone of our business, so you can always count on us to keep your glass full. You'll have to stop in sometime and have a drink on our patio — nothing like sipping a cocktail while people-watching! Thanks for the review and we'll hope to see you around soon!
