Back in the 50's, when Mom and Dad stopped by the highway for lunch on our vacation trips, THIS is the kind of place we stopped at. There were no golden arches or a chance to "have it your way." You ordered a burger, told the waitress you didn't want onions, and marveled at the size of the burger ... almost as big as your 7 year-old head!
Jims Burger Haven is a step back in time: big, 6-inch burgers; thick shakes; fries cooked crispy and hot; enough neon to take you back to 1957; and none of the kitsch which is supposed to be nostalgic, but says "made in Asia" all over it.
The burger was juicy, but not greasy. The onions and lettuce were crisp and fresh. Service was prompt and friendly for a made-to-order burger. Reasonably priced, I'll be back.
