“Wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013 via mobile

We usually stay at Hilton family hotels, but the rates in Alamosa were higher than we typically pay. So, based on reviews on TripAdvisor, we decided to try the Comfort Inn.

WOW! Upon arrival, I was greeted by Carol and inquired about a room. She said there was only one room available ... a king Jacuzzi. I was a bit apprehensive about the cost of this type of room but she was able to make it very affordable. The room was incredible! So clean and comfortable and far more for our dollar that we would have gotten at any of the neighboring hotels.

The free continental breakfast was also excellent. There was a wide selection of foods and everything tasted fresh.

More than I expected. Thank you Carol for helping make our stay in room 199 a great Alamosa experience!

It was uneventful stay in a positive way. Good value for money. The place is bit old compare to other places on same road. They are adding new rooms but not sure if rooms and lobby will be renovated also. It looks little old fashioned. The lobby probably been like that for over ten years- at least. Rooms were very clean, nice beds, nice towels and so on. Good size wide screen tv. The one complain I have is if they spend so much money on a wide screen tv, why not offer HD channels? Its like you have a top of the line Cadillac but then you will put in cheapest 82 octane gas! The picture quality is crappy because its probably through some crappy cable service. They might as well have the old boxy tv...
The breakfast was really good and had variety of choice. It was well stocked and clean. I will stay here again but hope they will have HD channels and renovate the lobby to make it more inviting and less cluttered...

Room Tip: Ask for room which is not close to where they are adding new rooms so that you avoid construction ac...

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us it is our guests comments that help us improve our property. I understand what you mean by the TV and Channels and we will look into HD options. Living in a small area and there is limited cable compies to choose from. And your right, our property is a bit older then some on the same high way but be assured we have done many renovations and are continuing to do so. Next time you are in the area ask to book one of our NEW suties! We look forward to seeing you again soon and again Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

Met at the front desk by a very caring employee. All employees treated us great. Checked us in quickly, suggested to visit the Great Sand Dune National Park and gave us cold bottles of water. Nice large, clean room, but kitchen was a little dark. The best free breakfast of our two week vacation.

we stopped here on an overnight during our 9 day "out west" trip tired and weary @ 11 pm we arrived and the MANAGER greeted us with a bottle of cold water seem like a simple thing but after hours on the road it was a very welcomed gesture he was cheerful energetic and funny and though we weren't exactly feeling chipper he made us smile then when we left the next a.m. he was still there with a smile on his face how refreshing the room had ALL the little amenities and was clean and neat and for me to even take the time to comment about a hotel says alot i consider myself a hotel snob and usually give thumbs down to most 4-5 star hotels i would highly recommend this hotel

The Comfort Inn at Alamosa was very clean, very comfortable and very reasonably priced. It also affords a fairly impressive view out onto the plains towards Blanca Peak and the mountains to the north-east. When we stayed there on May 7th and 8th 2013, we had a delightful stay. At one stage our washing inadvertently went missing from the self-service laundry, but Manish and his staff went to great lengths to inquire after it, and it turned out some kids had accidentally taken our cloths along with those of their parents. Needless to say, this was a great relief and the clothes were all returned safely later that day. Manish and the guys were also on hand whenever we needed any travel advice and hotel services. They went above and beyond.

My family and I were truly delighted with the charms of Alamosa and it's surrounding landscapes. Late winter storms over the Great Sand Dunes National Park created one of the most beautiful and spectacular sights I have ever seen in my life, while wandering deer entering the town the following morning (even stopping to await the traffic lights!) was a scene that was all so very "Northern Exposure". The town has some great restaurants and the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad among its attractions, while it is very handily located between Santa Fe/Taos and the Rockies for a stop over en route. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

Room Tip: The larger east wing is closer to the laundry if you need it.
