“unexceptional buffett”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2011

visited for dinner on a recent road trip- towards their closing time, perhaps explaining questionable food.
Attentive waitress advised buffet- said was basically the same as the menu. She brought our drinks promptly and checked in regularly.,
Salad and cold item buffet items were great, hot items were overcooked and dry- clearly the leftovers despite it being 1hr before closing.
the left over flavors suggested good, if standard, Mexican fare.

“Excellent authentic Mexican food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2011

The food at Cavillo's is excellent! You will not be disappointed. I had the buffet on back to back nights. They have a huge selection of made from scratch Mexican foods. No chain restaurant, food service, prepared microwave and serve food here. What a great restaurant!

Cavillo's has some of the best salsa in the country! You could make a meal out of chips and salsa and walk away happy.

This place is great! Not to be missed.

“Excellent Salad & Dessert Bar but Mexican Buffet Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2010

We went to Cavillo's based on previous reviews. The place was very busy for a Monday evening. We decided to try the Mexican Buffet ($12). The salad and dessert bar was well stocked and fresh. It even included peel and eat shrimp! The desserts were also very good. The Mexican buffet was confusing and not very fresh. The items were not labeled and many had sat on the steam table far too long. We took small amounts of several that we could identify (tamales. enchilades, etc.) but they were very average or slightly below. Several diners near us ordered off the menu and the food looked delicious. We would return but would just "do" the salad and dessert bar - if that was possible. We did think the price was very reasonable and soft drinks were included in the price of the buffet.
