“"Out of everything"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

My family and I went there and when handed the menu, we were told they were out of at least 4 menu items. I had the mixed green salad with corn, bell peppers, carrots and kidney beans that were supposed to be in the mixed green salad that only consisted of romaine lettuce. When I asked where the kidney beans were, the response was "Oh, we're out of those right now." My champagne was flat and the service was sub-par! We won't be going back! We are locals and don't recommend this place at all! We should have known since we were the only guests in the restaurant. Cheese board was acceptable but didn't have the crackers or the crostini bread either only the sourdough bread.

“Good food, pricey drinks”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

The food offerings are more interesting than the average wine bar, e,g,, salmon bites, salmon rolled into balls crusted with panko and served with a red pepper sauce. However, the drinks are what you can easily find and priced for a tourist budget.

“something different”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

We were staying in Avila Beach, one of our favorite destinations and wanted a light dinner, and something different than the numerous fish meals we had already eaten. The previous day we had walked by Cuvee returning to our resort from a walk on the beach and pier. They advertised a happy hour (2 for one) and had some very interesting light meals. My wife ordered one of the white wines on special and I had a fantastic Pinot. We ordered a antipasto plate and a salad. Both were excellent. The plate had several cheeses, a fried cheese wafer, dried fruit, etc. and I don't remember everything in the salad but it was scrumptious, too. My wife didn't particularly care for the white wine and they let her have a sparkling wine for second drink. The only minor downer was the help didn't show up (it was a Mon. evening) and the owner was handling everything. However, given the setting, the wine and her enthusiasm, we greatly enjoyed our meal and will go back next May when we return to Avila.

“Classy Casual Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

Yes, it is a champagne bar; but so much more and what a surprised to find it in a beach town. The owner know champagne and you may order flights, glasses, or bottles of the bubbly. If champagne is not your thing the cocktails are excellent as are their small plates. The night my wife and I were there the bluesy music was excellent. It is not often that you have champagne with a national steel guitar in a classy setting. Cuvée also has a coffee bar with breakfast in the mornings.

Well, I love Champagne bars, and this one is very special. The girls running it were charming and helpful, the champagne selections delightful. We were thrilled to find this charming little place!
