Family of 4 (including 2 teenagers) had the best dining experience ever at Steve's Steakhouse a week ago. Spent 3 nights in Avalon and this was the best restaurant of all by far. Ambiance was ideal (great live guitarist/vocalist), drinks outstandlng (perfectly strong), service impeccable (Jose), views enchanting (balcony front table within 5 feet of the gorgeous and live island Falcon (perched on Steve's signage) that polices the gull and pidgeon-free beach just below and across the sidewalk), food fresh and absolutely delish (fish caught off island that day?), and owners (Steve and Margaret) present and keeping aware of the flow. Interesting part was when Steve came by as we were perusing menu's and introduced himself, followed by asking each of us about food likes and dislikes. After our responses, he made individual suggestions, which we agreed to go with. He then move on but apparently gave that mental list to our waiter, as salads and appetizers (sashimi, jumbo coconut shrimp, and calamari) begain arriving moments later. Dinners (Sea Bass, Swordfish, Steak, and Kabobs) arrived right on time next. We could not have been more pleased or satisfied, and we all agreed that it was a dinner we'll remember and appreciate permanently. Will continue to make this our first stop on our annual viacations here.
