“Honeymooner Delight!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2009

My husband and I recently spent our "mini-moon" on Catalina for 3 nights and 4 days. We stayed in the Santa Cruz room. This room is their smallest room, but to us it was plenty! The bed was extremely comfortable, the air conditioning, fire place, soundscapes (which we set to rainy day for an afternoon of relaxation), slippers, and drawer space was nothing short of perfect. We couldn't have been happier. The breakfast was equally delicious...but the main thing we loved about this inn was the smallness of it, the cleanliness (which is a must for us) and the fact that it provided us with so much comfort made our honeymoon so memorable. We couldn't have cared less that the other rooms were bigger. The Chi Chi club never bothered us, but we stayed Sunday through Wednesday, so perhaps it is in full swing on Thurs-Sat nights...or perhaps just having the air conditioning unit on drowned out the sound. We never had trouble sleeping or napping.

What we paid for the room and what we got in terms of service and cleanliness and comfort was definitely worth it. There were other hotels on the island which were bigger and afforded bigger rooms and more hotel services, but those rooms were much MORE expensive than what we paid for this time of year, by at least $100-150. We couldn't have asked for more!

Catalina Island is a wonderful destination - so pretty! This inn is 6 beautifully decorated rooms upstairs right on the main street facing the ocean. It's an easy walk from the ferry and centrally located for restaurants, the beach, shopping and tours. They have a small lounge where they serve wine and cheese between 5 and 6 each night and we enjoyed the social hour with the other guests. Each morning they bring a big basket with coffee, juice, granola, fresh fruit, a loaf of quick bread, and vanilla yogurt to your room. Our room was $300 a night - which seems pricey to me. My complaint is that directly across the street from our room was the Chi Chi nightclub and you could hear people partying in the street outside our window until 2 to 3 in the morning! The inn provided earplugs which I had to use, and a white noise machine (but that's an annoying noise as well!). As much as I enjoyed the inn, I would prefer a place where I could sleep.

My husband and I spent Memorial Day weekend here. The rooms, service, and breakfast were great. The only downside was the noise from the Chi Chi club across the street. Even with earplugs it was a little loud. However, it was a minor inconvenience. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

My wife and I stayed at the Snug Harbor Inn for 5 nights. This was our first time on the island since our short 4 hour visit in 2001. We were very happy with our room at the Inn. The hotel made our stay very restful. The rooms were nicely and tastefully decorated and the staff was very, very helpful and always ready to answer any questions we might have about the city or our room. The breakfast that was delivered to our room by the friendly staff each morning was a great way to get our day started.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to have a nice getaway for two nights or two weeks!

We had such an enjoyable experience at the Snug Harbor Inn. Staff was exceptional and the room was lovely. Amentities were great and the location superb. The gal running the front desk was so helpful and accomodating. Would definitely stay here again. Located on the main beach in the center of everything and the view of the harbor from our room was breathtaking.

Our family celebrated my mother's 85th birthday here and we took up the whole inn (all six rooms). The rooms were just as advertized - clean, spacious, comfortable. Beautifully decorated. The Continental breakfast delivered to your room was absolutely amazing. Fresh bread, yogurt, granola, fruit, coffee, juice - what more could you want. All delivered in a basket with a clean white tablecloth. Wine and cheese hour was wonderful as well. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Only drawback was the Chi Chi Club across the street, but Snug Harbor Inn supplies earplugs and all was well! I will definately come back here on my next visit. Thank you Snug Harbor!

We visited during off season and had a very relaxing, quiet stay. The staff was courteous and friendly, willilng to help in any way. The room was small, but lovely. Great attention to detail in the decor. Great ammenities: robes, slippers, fresh flowers, turn down service, breakfast delivered at time requested. The breakfast was super! Granola, yogurt, fresh loaf of sweet bread, juice, milk, coffee. Delicious!! We definitely would stay here again. Also, due to off season, the hotel picked up the cost of the boat, which was a great bonus. Would love to be able to come back in the future.
