We stayed at the Hotel St. Lauren for our wedding anniversary. This was our first time visiting Catalina, so we chose this hotel based on reviews and a good price through Groupon. The staff was very friendly, rooms very clean, and the views are among the best in Avalon. We had a room with a balcony on the 5th floor overlooking all of Avalon and the bay from the casino to the Catalina Landing. Balcony was great for stargazing as well. The hotel has two outside patios for guests, one on the 6th floor and one on the 2nd that is more secluded. Both offer beautiful views of the bay. The location of this hotel is perfect. It is only a short walk to all shops and restaurants. Vons Grocery is a half block away.
Hotel staff was courteous and helpful.
Rooms do not have coffeemakers, which we missed having. Coffee is available in the lobby from 8:00-10:00 a.m. We were very pleased with our stay at the Hotel St. Lauren and plan to stay there again on our next trip to Catalina.

Stayed here with my girls friends for a girls weekend. It was cute and meet our needs, the walls are a little thin and some of the stuff is outdated. But all we really needed was a place to sleep. It was not over priced for what we got.

Enjoyed a nights stay here in October 2012 and found the hotel very well located in the middle of the town. The room was a reasonable size and had a comfortable bed, but the room did look a little dated which detracted from things a little bit. The hotel has a lovely 6th floor balcony which overlooks the town towards to port and beach area.

This was my worst experience at a Catalina hotel. I have traveled to Catalina many times and usually stay at other hotels but since I booked at the last minute this was the only hotel which had open rooms. First off the staff had major attitude problems and the whole hotel was so dirty I didnt feel like sitting down anywhere. The room we got was way overpriced, about 150$ more than other comparable hotels. Our bed sheets/comforter had stains on them, the pillows were hard, there were roaches and spiders in our bathroom- it was so bad we decided not to stay the night and leave Catalina early which was sad because it was a beautiful day on the island. I will never stay at the hotel ever again and will warn everyone to stay away! Go anywhere else on the Island!
