“Loved the Pavilion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

The Pavilion Hotel on Catalina Island is the place to stay. Staff is wonderful, they will take your luggage as you get off the boat. Rooms are small but clean. The breakfast has many choices and opened till 10:30 a.m. This place has the best location in town. Wonderful fire pit that is a perfect place for wine and cheese in the afternoon. Well stocked DVD selection for free. Another good place for DVD's is the public library.

On a scale of 1 to 5, I give them a 10. The customer service is outstanding!
There were 20 ladies in our group that stayed last year. This year there were 19. We had a group package that included the Catalina Express. The sheets were high quality. The staff was wonderful and helpful. Housekeeping even knocked on our doors to see if we needed anything.
A turndown with a chocolate on our pillow at night! With complimentary VOSS water.
Generous servings at the "Happy Hour" buffet each night. And they've added protein to their morning Continental Breakfast to my pleasure. We belong to Simi Valley New In Town Club, and we are ready to book for next year. Another group of 40 from Morro Bay have already reserved a block of rooms.
During the off season (after Oct 21?) there is a cruise ship in on Tuesdays, the Trolley would be a good value that day. $4 for one hour. I can't say enough on how nice this hotel is.

I brought my wife here for her 50th birthday. It was her first time on the island and our first time at The Pavilion. There was a very kind note from the staff and a plate of fresh fruit waiting for us in our room when we arrived. Throughout our stay the staff was courteous and polite. At 4:30 each day the hotel hosted wine and cheese tastings -free of charge. The orange juice in the free continental breakfast was fresh-squeezed (or tasted so). The location is perfect, as its an easy walk to everything in Avalon. I was very pleased with our stay here. There is no gym or pool so if you need that, this may not be your place.

The only down side was that the wired Ethernet connectors in the room were dead and the wifi requires a web browser to authenticate so you can't use a portable wireless router or Apple TV without sharing their wifi connection over Ethernet. If you try this, you'll need to manually enter the DNS server they use in your wireless router for it all to work.

Room Tip: Let them know in advance if you're celebrating anything special.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Pavilion Hotel on your recent visit to Catalina Island. My team and I express our sincerest appreciation for taking the time to share your hotel experience with others on TripAdvisor.

As to the situation with the Ethernet, we are currently in the process of removing all wired connections from our rooms and apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused during your stay. Like most hotels we utilize a standard hotspot gateway with authentication to ensure that only our guests have access to the complimentary Wifi, which helps maintain the speed and reliability of the connection.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Pavilion Hotel and thank you again for the positive review!

Sincerely,

Roberto Perico

I stayed with a group of seven friends for two nights. Our service was impeccable, the breakfast buffet ample and delicious. Hotel is well-located and so pleasant for just hanging out and relaxing. We got the package that included many free or discounted local activities and it is totally worth it.

I stayed at pavilion hotel with my wife after visiting Catalina from England. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we were extremily well looked after. The room was spacious and very clean with very comfortable beds. The breakfast selection was good and the food was fresh and tasty. The complimentary wine and cheese tasting everyday was a nice touch and a great way to meet other guests. All of the staff were fantastic and great ambassadors for the hotel. To name a couple, Leticia and Vicky were tremendously helpful and a pleasure to see each day. They remembered our preferences and nothing was too much trouble.

Great place with great staff, can't wait to return!

On the advice and recommendations from the posts found herein TripAdvisor I planned my 3 day honeymoon stay at the Pavilion - In my books the staff and service of a hotel is measured by being ready and willing to help but yet you don't really notice them, this hotel with it's courteous staff and impeccable cleanliness delivered on all elements and deserve nothing less than a 5 Star rating!

The staff all went above and beyond by fulfilling a special request I had when I reserved the room on-line. And Joy in the reservation department helped after the fact with the small details and minor changes, even as far as applying my AAA discount. Thank you Joy for your help and consideration because you did not have to but yet you were interested in service. I am thankful and pleased and your hotel chain has earned my loyalty.

The dozen roses for my new bride and the balloons for my new step son were in the room when we arrived. Perfectly and graciously executed instructions.

There was a small issue in our guest bathroom, but just a quick mention to the front desk as we were on our way out for the day is all it took as it was fixed when we arrived back at our room. That is very classy as the staff "gets-it's" to the saying that "The small things are not something they are everything".

We will be back for our anniversary next year and many years to follow!

A special thank you and shout out to the staff Joy (reservation desk), Justin and Martin. Thank you!

We had a 5 star experience the one night we were there. The staff is outstanding, so helpful and kind and welcoming.
There is wine and cheese in the late afternoon. There is breakfast buffet started you off for the day. All part of the stay. The wine and cheese were perfect end to over active day. The grounds were perfect with lots of lounges you can nap on. Location was perfect for us. The room was so comfortable. We can't wait to get to come back to Pavilion Hotel for longer.

Room Tip: We were happy with our standard double. Added a roll away for third adult. And it was comfortable fo...
