“truck engine running in the parking lot at 6am”

We spent Friday night at the Super8 motel in Auburn. The hotel is nice but noisy.
We were woken up at 6am by the sound of a truck's engine. The engine was running for 15 minutes in the parking lot. When I inquired at the reception about the truck's engine noise, they just replied that they get a lot of truckers and they are warning up the engines.
