My husband I stop here frequently for lunch on our way too and from Lake Tahoe to the San Francisco Bay Area. The food and service are excellent with huge portions. The menu is diverse and extensive but breakfast items and lunch items are the rule since the cafe is open early morning until 2.30pm on Wednesday,ThursdayFriday and Saturday and closing at 2 p.m. on Sundays. It is homecooking at it's finest, with everything prepared fresh in the kitchen whilst you wait. We usually order an omelette or the eggs Benedict served with generous portions of homefries and fruit. These are fabulous but the salads and sandwiches are great too. Prices are very good with most items under $10 but take cash because cheques and credit cards are not accepted. This is a very popular spot so be prepared to wait for a few minutes before being seated. They don't take reservations. The inside is very cosy but on the right day eating outside is very nice too.
