“A Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Located between Miner's Hardware and the post office, this place has GREAT food, a super-friendly staff, and a great patio overlooking the creek. The tri-tip salad is wow-good, and the chicken salad is also. The burritos are large, the tea is great, and the seating on the back patio is very pleasant. You don't want to miss this one. Decent pricing, and parking is super-easy.

“Chicken Delight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

Roast'n Rooster has been one of our favorite restaurants since we first discovered it 3 years ago. The menu of tasty char-broiled chicken, and the standard side dishes of potato salad, beans, rice, tortillas, etc, as well as burritos, salads, and soups, has expanded to include not only fried chicken (absolutely delicious) but also tri-tip and ribs, grilled Santa Maria style, right out front of the restaurant on weekends. Very tempting smells for anyone patronizing the shopping center where it's located! There's a small self-serve station where you can get a basket of warm tortilla chips, and choose from several different salsas to accompany your meal, and all are delicious - the pico de gallo is a favorite. There's seating on the inside, which is charmingly decorated with a hand-painted wall sized mural and lots, (and lots) of rooster memoriabilia. And, there's also plenty of outdoor seating on the patio deck, which is very nicely decorated with plants and fountains. The service is always prompt and friendly, and It's a perfect place for a quick lunch, a family outing, or take-out.
