“Beautiful Getaway in Arroyo Grande”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2011

I took my fiancé here for his 30th birthday because we love the area and all the wineries that Arroyo Grande and Edna Valley have to offer. We usually stay in Avila Beach but I came across this little gem while looking for something right in the the thick of SLO wine country. So happy we did! This place is perfect for rest and relaxation, or a special occasion. We stayed in the Cielo casita by the pool and it had a great view of the valley. It's the most private of all the casitas which we really liked. Every morning Tony and Pat bought us AMAZING breakfast to our room which we enjoyed on the the deck. What a nice perk! We look forward to coming back again soon, in fact, I think I will book another weekend for next month :)

Tony and Pat are the best hosts. We had a lot of privacy. We had our own private patio and ate breakfast in our room because it was too cold to eat outside. My wife and I stayed for three nights in Mariposa casita and we loved it. The views from the room were great. We had a fire every night which was very romantic. Our favorite dinner during the trip was when we bought bread, cheese and tomatoes from Trader Joe's and ate in. Tony prepares fantastic breakfast which are a treat and their coffee is wonderful. We took a tour at Hearst Castle which is about one hour away. We toured wineries one day, which Tony and Pat helped us set up. We got to see the Monarch Butterfly migration! We'll be coming back. Arroyo Grande has a winery (Albans, just down the road) which made the #13 wine in the world in 2010 according to Wine Spectator. Want to hear something even weirder? The #1 wine in the world in 2010 came from Paso Robles (Saxum).

This was the second time my husband and I went to the Casitas and it was just as magical as the first time. The weather was gorgeous, our room fantastic (what comfortable beds!!), and both breakfasts were phenomenal. We had souffles one day and the best crepes I've ever eaten the second day. Tony and Pat treated us like family and we can't wait to go back!

This is not your typical B&B. There is one main house and four smaller homes (the casitas) for guests. So you basically have your own little home on the property, complete with DirecTV and wifi. There is also an outdoor lap pool. The hosts, who are very friendly and accommodating, deliver your custom-cooked breakfast to you in the morning when you want it. It is located just outside Arroyo Grande, up on a hillside with a spectacular view of the surrounding valley. Lots of hummingbirds, wild turkeys, and horses nearby make this a quiet haven. My only regret is that we couldn't spend more time here. If you're looking for nightlife, this isn't for you. But if you want a beautiful getaway close to wine country, you couldn't find a better place.

Breathtaking views, delicious breakfasts on the terrace, gorgeous pool, peaceful situation- what more could one want? Well, Pat and Tony give you much more. Unseasonably hot weather was made tolerable by nice touches like sorbet by the pool and a jug of iced water in the fridge. My gluten-free diet was accommodated without a hitch so that I could indulge in Tony's famous French toast. The room is gorgeous with high-end products like Bose music centers and sub-zero mini-fridges. Lovely soft furnishings. Tony and Pat are gracious hosts. The small scale of the operation makes for attentive but unobtrusive service. Just loved it!

This is the first review I have ever been inspired to write, as I have never been so pleased with a stay as I have been while having the honor of being a guest at Casitas of Aroyo Grande.

The lovely views of the beautiful countryside, the quiet, peaceful surroundings and the comforts they provide for each guest is what makes this stay a delight from beginning to end.

My husband and I decided we needed to "getaway", but staying in a noisy hotel or going to a crowded touristy area, just did not fit the bill. When I found the website for Casitas of Aroyo Grande, I felt a peace and had hoped it was half as good as the website touted. I was overjoyed when I saw that the website counld not do this gem justice, as there is no way to capture the tranquility and beauty of this home.

The hospitality of the owners Pat and Tony, was a perfect mix of welcoming and yet allowed for the privacy we so needed.
Delicious hot breakfast was brought to you al fresco on your private coutyeard at the time you request.

Can't wait to go back for our 30 year anniversary next year!!

Peaceful, quiet cottage overlooking rolling hills on California's central coast wine country. Sat on our private deck and drank coffee which was brought early, watching the fog rescind until the sun emerged and a lovely breakfast was brought. Crepes Suzette and fresh Califonria strawberries on the deck of our private patio after sleeping in a cozy plush king size bed. You must stay and allow Tony and Pat to be your hosts.
