“Nothing Fancy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

I booked this based on 5 star tripadvisor reviews but then saw the most of the reviewers had reviewed only this place. I was worried going in. We stayed here one night and didn't get good night sleep. Beds were really hard. There is a bar next to it and I heard it get noisy sometimes, luckily it was quiet. Internet doesn't work most of the time, there is no storage at all, small table and a night stand only. It was clean though, no bath tub, only a shower, that worked for us but may not work for people with small kids.

We have stayed at Timberline Lodge in winter for ski trips, and summer for reservoir trips, and it is always the perfect choice. Great food choices within walking distance, and a sporting goods store across the street for forgotten items. The owner Colleen is very accommodating and provides a very friendly, personal experience. Excellent value.

2 nights in room with cozy cabin decor. loved excellent king bed and sheets, with 6 pillows of varying softness (great!!). the lodge is right in town and very convenient. really close to beautiful White Pines Lake. we would definitely stay again.

would have been nice to have in the room: kleenex and fridge. also an icemaker somewhere on the premises.

We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and quaintness of this lodge. We felt like we were staying in a log cabin or chalet! It was so cute and cozy! Very clean, from the bedding to carpets to bathroom. Very rustic with lots of charm. We will definitely stay here again!

The room is very small, the beds are very old, hard, squeak and were stained. The Price was way too much for what we got. The TV's are small and very low and it is located right next to a bar and you can hear the action all night long. We will opt for another place to stay next year. Also, on a side not....they are not very friendly and there are notes everywhere not to get anything dirty...which ok one note would do fine. Just not our thing and we won't be back.

I have been staying at the Timberline for the last 12 years. I have never had a bad experience. I was there for Frog Jump this year and had a wonderful visit. It was clean, quiet and relaxing. I could sleep in if I wanted to, which I did. Colleen does a great job. If I come in the winter the heater or fireplace are turned on so that the room is warm.. If I come in the summer, the air condition is on so I do not have to wait for it to cool down. I always drive past Angels Camp and Murphys (where I used to live) to stay in Arnold. I love the cooler summer weather and the smell of the pine trees. I could not have had a better time.

Room Tip: Call early to reserve a room.

Colleen and her staff are fantastic! Our room was very comfortable and convient with one of the best eateries in Arnold within easy walking distance. We received excellent advice and information about where to eat and things to do in Arnold and the surrounding cities. The people here are very nice and genuinely care about helping you to have a wonderful time. This is definitely a "keeper." We will return here and enjoy another wonderful stay.
