As a Hilton Honors gold member, I have stayed at many Hampton Inns but this was probably the worst I have experienced. I requested a room on the third floor to the rear of the building. I received a second floor room to the front of the building, where it is much noisier. I walked to the elevator and it smelled very badly. Once I got to the second floor, it also had a stench to it, almost as if someone had been smoking in both places. Once inside my room, the walls were so thin that I could hear every word of the guy in the room next door as he talked on the phone with his child. The breakfast was very substandard, as well. The eggs appeared to have been made from powder and there was no taste at all. Lastly, the staff were less than interested in their customers. When I turned in my room card during checkout, the clerk said, "OK, you're good to go". There was never any question about how things were or even a thank you for staying. I know there are not many choices in this area but there are definitely better ones.
Ask for a room on the 3rd floor in the back corner of the hotel as the walls are very thin. However...

Thank you for choosing Hampton Inn & Suites as your hotel of choice. I wanted to acknowledge the issues that you experienced at the hotel. As per our conversation upon checking in, you did put in a request for a top floor room in the back corner. However, the only thing that is guaranteed is a room at the hotel and the other requests are taken into consideration, if we have the availability. As I had explained to you that afternoon, we were full and the only room available was the second floor. We always try to accommodate everyone's request but when the hotel is at full capacity, we can only give what is available. Regarding the breakfast items, we prepare everything per Hilton protocol. I will certainly speak with the breakfast attendant and let him know that the eggs need to be worked on. I do know that the eggs are not powdered. We certainly thank you for your loyalty to the Hilton brand. We hope to see you again in the future to show you the 100% customer service you deserve. If you feel the need to contact me to further discuss this matter, you are more than welcome to do so at (707) 822-5896. Thank you and have a wonderful day!
