In this small building are housed many natural artifacts that represent the area - sharks teeth, fossils, and maps of interest. It is a good stop for outsiders to get some context for all the beauty and science that makes up Humboldt County. Occasionally there are temporary exhibits with various animals, an earthquake simulation, and speakers.
The shop has great learning items for young children as well as science books of interest to adults who come for birding, mushroom hunting, or hiking. We go to this shop regularly for gift items.
The museum is of course limited by its size and cannot compete with science museums in large cities, but they have done a noble job and add much interest and education to our community.
