I'll get the bad right out of the way, 'cause it' puts some people off somtimes. This place is small, dark, kinda dank, and quite old in terms of decor. Get over yourself for the FOOD!
Every single item (I've had all but the menudo) is delicious. Spicy things are spicy, but they don't fry your tongue. Meats are tender. Refried beans are creamy but not diluted to the point they're not beans anymore. Rice is always perfect. Everything that should be is covered in fresh cheese, and they use the most awesome sour cream for the dishes that call for it. Fresh made bottomless chips and salsa. Best pozole I've ever had (beyond my own).
Very inexpensive, and the servers, most of which have been there 10 years or more, are VERY fast and friendly, especially at lunch time. Dinner can be very busy, so reservations or a patience hat are recommended for weekends/dinner. Worth the wait if there is one!!
