“Great coastal family vacation spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

We have stayed at Seascape 4 times in the last 12 years with our children. From 2 bed/2 bath townhouse to 1 bedroom suite. Great location for day activities outside of Aptos to spending time at resort with pool service. Yes, as other reviews state it is becoming dated. As our kids are becoming older we are now noticing. Good times are always had here though with the beach down the hill. The golf carts are great with large families and small kids. As well as beach fire and s'mores! We want to continue coming here as the family grows so we hope renovations will come at some point. I would recommend Seascape to our friends with families. Great memories here.

Hate to write a negative review yet I must. We were here in late May 2013 for weekend wedding & festivities with exceptionally lovely weather. The outside wedding overlooking the coast was beautiful. A little like Hawaii. We were served nice h'ordorves al fresco by unpolished & almost rude servers. The wedding dinner was inedible. Strange tasting Chicken served along with VERY tough & tasteless steak. Again rudely served (slamming plates down, talking to each other, ect.).Too bad, if we'd known what was to come we'd have enjoyed more of the appetizers, fruit & cheese outdoors before dinner. The room "suite" we had looked like a dated, not very clean time-share condo. Small kitchen & fireplace with low ceilings (1st floor), & tiny Yukky bath. Bed was very uncomfortable, pillows lumpy. We had requested a king or queen bed but I really think it was a small double. Brunch of dried tasting scrambled eggs, greasy hashbrowns, canned OJ, bad coffee the next morning was also awful...except for the Corralitos (Watsonville) smoked bacon which is so good. We couldn't wait to leave. Beautiful location but would not stay here again.

This resort was nice. Yes the rooms are a bit dated but they are very clean and you also pay resonable rates. The grounds are also well taken care of. Upside to this resort is the nice pool areas, direct beach access, small kitchen in your room and the beach fire is great. My family really enjoyed this! Many complained about the golf carts but I thought they were fine. While its a short walk everywhere it was nice when our 4 year old need to use the restroom just as we got the beach. They just zipped us up to our room. Theroom was nice with a fireplace, dvd player, balcony, and small kitchen.
Downside was that the pool area could have been better attended to. Trash left overnight and towels everywhere. Also the bed and pillows were not very comfortable. But I prefere a softer bed. Overall we would return for a visit with our kids but for a romantic getaway we would choose another hotel.

We were a walkin and planned on staying 2 days. We extended 3 times. We stayed a full week. The beech below is 17 miles long. The resort offers rides around property and to the beach. our favorite spot was the outdoor patio that looks out onto the ocean. We ate every meal outside. they have heat lamps at nights. the 3 pools are heated and are a good size. They provide access to Seacape Golf Course as well as the Seascape Tennis Club. there is a Marketplace within walkig distance. They have a wine tasting night on Wednesday and Thursday night they offered $21 lobster dinners. This is a place to visit more than once.

Room Tip: We recommend the rooms in the 600's. We also HIGHLY RECOMMEND the SPA SUITES. they only have 10...

To celebrate our 40th (!) wedding anniversary we went south for a change and tried out the Seascape Resort. It was pleasant enough, but very ordinary except for the size and the ocean view in the distance. We had the one bedroom, ocean view suite with the smallest bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel. Although we had a discount for being seniors, it was eaten up by the room tax and 'resort fee' of $18. We took part in none of the activities covered by that fee, but it included a gratuity for the staff -- $18 was more than we would have left in the room for a single night, but...

The room needs updating! The heater made more noise than being warm warranted so we had to shut it off and use the gas fireplace instead. However the bed was comfortable as were the chairs and sofabed, and the carpet and surfaces and glass doors were clean. It just looked at least 15 years old.

We paid over $100 more for this place than our favorite -- and nicer -- Bodega Bay Lodge. The Northern California coast is far better than the overpopulated coasts south of San Francisco. And the Seacoast Resort is past its prime.

It is a nice place to stay. The strengths are the views over the cliff onto the ocean, having a full kitchen, living room, upstairs/downstairs balconies, fireplace and great trails. The weaknesses; the pillows are stiff and bulky and the hairdryer is awful virtually useless. Overall it's a nice place to stay.

Room Tip: It is best to stay on the southern side of the lodge. This time we were in RM 501 and it was nice...
