“Way too much money for an average stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I decided to pay the extra money to take our girl to the Disney hotel ( we had both stayed when we were younger) and frankly I was really disappointed. The rooms were small, they didn't even play disney movies or cartoons for when it's bedtime/naptime and you are in the room. Anyone can walk through hotel or sneak into pool. They don't even offer a kiddie pool. Everything is over priced and there is nowhere normal to eat at a decent price. The service is great though, the rooms are really clean but if I were to do it again I would stay somewhere else for less money and spend my extra money at park. And whatever happened to the boats they use to have? I would not recommended wasting your money and stayin here.

This hotel is nice, relaxed place - not top end. The rooms and clean and comfortable. I would say the staff is superb; friendly and attentive. You can tell who likes kids and who doesn't. There was a nice young gentleman, Jeremy, I think who was manning the slide who was especially kind and friendly to my little kiddo. One late afternoon my daughter stepped on a bee and was screaming and screaming like I had never heard before. I random staff member stopped and asked if he could help. We told him what happened and he suggested we call for a nurse. I can't tell you how impressed we were with the promptness and care we got from this wonderful nurse. She was up to the room almost immediately, and was thorough and so kind to our daughter. (My daughter would have been just fine without the nurse, but it made her feel so much better seeing her). The location of this hotel is awesome. We ate breakfast at this tangaloa terrace (or something like that) per someone's recommendation. Of course the food was mediocre at best, but all three of us were able to eat breakfast for under $30. And, after 4 days, we realized the food throughout all of Disneyland, downtown Disney, hotels, etc was mediocre. Pool is nice and the slides are awesome. Overall the best part is the staff. Very friendly and classy.

Room Tip: I don't think it is worth it to get a room with a pool view.

The rooms really are the star attraction here. The beds and decor really are beautiful and very comfortable. The pool was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed the tiki lounge restaurant This place is good if you are looking for a more vacation experience versus just an amusement park visit. Great for relaxing and taking a nap, then going back to the park for the evening. The slides are great for the small and big kids alike. Plenty of hot tub space as well. While i preferred our Grand California experience, this one still ranked very high.

Everything about the hotel is Disney. It is expensive but if you are looking for service and location and Disney atmosphere then this is your place Disney service is the best and if you are on the Club Level like we were it's even better. The hotel was a full capasity and our room was still ready at 11:00. Couldn't get a late check out because of that but that was ok. The Club Level is good value if you have a family. Best part was waters, sodas, juices and snacks all day long. Rooms have DVD players with free rentals in the Club Lounge. The room headborads are priceless. Lots of places to eat and drink. It is a walk to the park but jump on the momorail and it's great. we have stayed here many time and will keep coming back!

Room Tip: The best view is from the higher floors in the adventure tower over looking Downtown Disney but ther...

I first stayed in the newly remodeled room which I was pleasantly surprised
The headboard lites up like fireworks and a music box comes on
Then after two nites I switched to the fairy tale suite which was like living in a dream state for the additional two nites. When u walk into the foyer of the Disneyland suite tinker greets u every time and flys around the walls and then lites up the castle made of glass imbedded in the wall.
I can't say enough good things about this room and overall experience
I have posted 2 videos and pics
Just staying at hotel u get in 1 hour before they open to public

travelled to Disneyland with family of 4, 2 small children. Stayed at Disneyland Hotel in the Fantasyland tower. Rooms and Hotel are in great condition, service is good, hotel is busy and can wait for lifts etc but this is not a big hassle. Location is excellent, only 5-10min leisurely walk to main gates. We got a pool view room and we were hardly in our room as we were in the park for full 3 days. Pool area is great and kids enjoyed the pools and watersides, provides a good break from the park. Staying at the hotel gives you access to the park 1 hour early which is a blessing and you can actually get a lot done with less crowds, this is worth the extra money. Overall great stay and recommend staying there .

We just finished up a 5 night stay and the Disneyland Hotel. I concur with what most of the others have said about the hotel, so let me add some information about the rooms. Our group stayed in the Frontier tower. The even-numbered rooms overlook the beautifully remodeled pool area and face the Fantasy on the other side of the pool. To the right is the Adventure tower. Some of these rooms have a peek a boo view of DIsneyland and the Matterhorn. The odd numbered rooms overlook the Downtown Disney parking lot, but you don't have another tower blocking your view so the higher floors have a nice, expansive view of the surrounding neighborhoods. Our standard room was relatively small, with two queen beds, and a split shower/toilet and sink area. It had a fridge and housekeeping brought up a microwave upon request. The beds and linens were very comfortable. Three complaints, the towels have seen better days. They were thin and scratchy and not very absorbent. Second, the flow restrictor in the shower made for an anemic water stream and a very slow shower; and lastly, if you get a room with a connecting door, you will be able to hear everything that's going on with your neighbors. If you'd like a larger room, ask for one with a sofa. They are considerably larger and have a separate desk and changing area. If you want a view of Downtown Disney and the parks, you'll want the Adventure Tower - requesting a high floor facing the parks. The lighted head board was one of the few things that differentiated the room from any other 4 star hotel room, and I kept it on all night as a night light. I have stayed at the Grand Californian, and liked this hotel better as it felt "warmer" and not so large. I have not stayed at Paradise Pier, so I cannot compare it. But the convenience of having Downtown Disney a few steps away, early entrance through the Grand Californian, and the Monorail a block away, makes the Disneyland Hotel a good choice for business, conference or family.

Room Tip: Even floors in Frontier Tower look out over a large parking lot, but are expansive if you're up...
