“Nice Resort Style Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

This hotel is on the resort property adjacent to the main Disneyland Park. You can walk to the entrance through the shops and restaurants in about 10-15 mins or you can take the monorail which leaves every few mins across from the hotel. Overall the hotel has been remodeled, so it is quite nice. Now for the price, it could be better. But part of the price is the whole Disney experience and convenience to the park.
The restaurants on site were okay, if not a bit overpriced, but that is all of Disney really.
All of the staff was very helpful for the most part.
The rooms were always clean and stocked when we cam back from a day at the parks.
Overall, if you want to save money, you could stay at another hotel nearby, but if you want the full Disney experience 24 hours a day, then stay here, as it is cheaper than the other Disney hotels at the property.

Room Tip: Monorail is 3 minute walk from the hotel.

“Love finding all the hidden Mickeys”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

First off let me say I love this hotel! Our flight came in kinda late so we didn't arrive until about 9:30pm on a Saturday night on a holiday weekend. They had a governors ball going on that night, it was so nice to see all the young service men in their dressy attire with their dates in beautiful ball gowns. After I saw that I thought of boy we aren't gonna get upgraded for free this time. BUT Disney didn't disappoint, they upgraded us to a premium view room which worked perfect for my family of 4, both kids got their own bed! So our room had 2 queens and a daybed and overlooked the pool in the Frontier Tower on the 8th floor.

I love the room decor with all the hidden Mickey's everywhere in the tiniest details. The headboard is just beautiful. The room is very spacious as well. The only disappointment about the hotel is that the water slides were close for refurbishment. It was kinda too cold for swimming but we kinda wanted to try the slides, lots of other people were swimming during our stay. We did use the hot tub a few times and enjoyed it. The walk, oddly wasn't that bad considering the hotel is the furthest away from the parks. We caught the monorail to disneyland and when we wanted to go to DCA we went out the back of our tower cut through the parking lot next to Paradise Pier and then cut through the Grand to get into DCA.

We ate twice at the Tangaroa Cafe and it was pretty good. You order your food from a touch screen menu, pay and then they bring it to your table. They were great with our food allergies too! It was fast and very convenient.

Overall we had a great trip but my best advise would be if at all possible avoid the park on a weekend! To my surprise Veterans Day observed was not too crowded in the parks either.

Room Tip: ask for a free upgrade

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

Our family consisting of one toddler, two adults and two teens stayed here for 6 nights in August 2012. We were put in the Adventure Tower with a view of the pool (and partial view of the fireworks). To put it simply, we loved every bit of our stay at this hotel and can not wait to go back. The best part was the early entry to the parks. We made good use of this extra every morning allowing us to ride on many of the new Cars Land attractions more than once, or every Fantasy Land ride well before regular park opening. We would take a mid morning break back at the hotel pool, have lunch and then head back to the park later in the afternoon until closing.

The beds were very comfortable and we loved all of the little Mickey touches. As expected, every level of service from the hotel was exceptional from the bell hop to the pool service.

If I have one complaint, it is a small one; I was disapointed that the toddler area of the pool was right beside the water slide exit. Kids would naturally be drawn to the slide exit and would then get shooed away by the lifeguards (for obvious safety reasons). It would have been nice had someone thought beforehand that maybe this wasn't a wise place to have young kids playing. Oh, and as many have mentioned the pools were very cold even in August!

“Tough to beat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

Disneyland is a classic destination for any family with children. We decided to stay at the Disneyland hotel for a couple of reasons... The perks associated with getting into the park early and proximity to the parks were high on the list.

We stayed in a one bedroom (2 Queen beds). The decor was contemporary and the lit headboard was a smash hit with our 7 year old. Disneyland is not cheap... nor are the hotels but there is value in the price.
- The Hotel was very clean and well maintained
- The room was clean and tid, beds comfortable and none of the linens or towels appeared "tired" as so often happens.
- Free Wifi was an unexpected bonus

We stayed in the "Frontier" tower and the scale model of "Big Thunder Railroad" in the lobby was a big hit as it was a favourite ride.

Getting to the park from the hotel was an easy walk through the Downtown Disney zone. This area is peppered with options for meals so you can manage your budget and not have to rely on the Disney restaurants.

In general... I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to visit Disneyland... it is nice to be get into the parks an hour early and also to be close enough to the park that you don't need to worry about busses, taxis or rental cars to get to and fro.

Room Tip: Don't expect a great view from the Frontier Tower... then again you don't visit Disneyland t...

“The "original" Disneyland Hotel !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

Our family recently returned from our annual Disneyland trip here in California. It started 28 years ago with our first born and now is a new tradition with our first born grand baby who is now
4 years old, by the way it was his second trip and was tall enough last year to ride ALL the rides except Indiana Jones AND he rode them all "the big white mountain" (Matterhorn) was his favorite last year this year it was Star Tours :-)
When we started our tradition 28 years ago it started with the "Disneyland Hotel" over the years we have stayed at the Grand Californian Hotel as our family grew we also tried the Hyatt Hotel down the road both very nice.
However this year We decided to go back to the original "Disneyland Hotel" AMAZING!!! The rooms were recently newly renovated, one of the MUST mention change in the room is the headboard over the bed, one push of a button on the light on the nightstand AND AMAAZINGLY the headboard lights up with FIREWORKS AND A SOOTHING musical song plays, you can leave the fireworks on as a nightlight, the music only plays for a little while long enough to relax after a very exciting day at the parks, LOVED LOVED LOVED!!! The room is so clean, the new pools and hot tub were perfect after walking from opening to closing of both parks!
I have to say making reservations were so easy and the staff so helpful including directing me to a trip planner to help make this trip as special as our first one EACH time we go :-) I asked if there was anything they could suggest to make this trip special for our grandson? They suggested different ideas, BUT I want to share the one we choose. First it does cost an additional amount however if your able to do this it was well worth it for us as grandparents.
We purchased the Birthday welcome package it included the following and so much fun to send our grandson Myles down the hallway to find his room on his own AND find it he did very easily. There it was a beautiful Welcome banner across the door ( made from felt and satin) as he walked into the room there were Micky's footprints all over the floor were Myles could see Mickey had been in the room preparing to welcome him. There were balloons with one Mylar that when Myles touch it, it sang Happy Birthday. On the window another banner saying Happy Birthday with a Tinkerbell flying over it lit up with an led light, on the nightstand a Happy Birthday Mickey Mouse ear hat with "Myles" stitched on the back,a book autographed and personally signed "To Myles, from Mickey and all the other characters" with a pen for Myles to take to the park with him also a HUGH beautiful box on the bed a present from Mickey and his friends for Myles with a picture frame with Mickey on it along with spinning Tinkerbell light toy, a find the hidden Mickey's in the park book AND a large plush MICKEY MOUSE with a light up lanyard draped over his
neck for Myles! The reaction of watching our grandsons face light up and him saying " Whaat? This is from Mickey for me?" PRICELESS!!! Thank you Disney planning staff for the recommendation.
I also want to thank the Disneyland Hotel for trying to get us into our room early due to one of our family members having a migraine, because you were able to at least get one room for our party of seven our family member was able to lay down for a little while and was able to get rid of her migraine so we ALL were able to have a fabulous vacation!
We will choose "Disneyland Hotel" for many years to follow in the future as our family continues to grow along with our families annual traditional trip to Disneyland and memories continue to grow :-) !!!

Thank you to the staff of the Disneyland Hotel, planning department and of course Mickey and his friends! :-)

Room Tip: All the room are great if you don't have the view of the park ask for the view of the pool beaut...
