“My favorite Disney hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2012

We just returned from a 3 night stay at the DL Hotel and could not have been more pleased. Our family has been to WDW numerous times and stayed at many of the resorts there. I have to say the renovated DL Hotel is my new favorite. The Disney theme of this hotel is carried out perfectly and if you are a Disney history buff you will really enjoy it. Everything is modern and clean. The pool is fantastic for kids. We loved being able to walk right out of our room in the Adventure tower and be in Downtown Disney and a short stroll to DL and DCA. We ate at Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast on our last morning and it was great also. Highly recommend the DL Hotel.

My husband, two children and I stayed three nights in February. The rooms have recently been renovated and are clean and comfortable. Our room was very small but fortunately we didn't spend much time in it. The pool is great and heated. The hotel is farther than we expected from the entrance and was quite a trek at the end of the day! (the monorail was out of service while we were there so perhaps it's easier when it is running?) Considering the distance and the price for such a small room we probably won't stay here next time.

I have wanted to stay at the Disneyland hotel for years. Yet I would see how much more it cost vs. value hotels and would decide to save the money. However this year after much debate & reviews we decided to give it a try. I am so glad we did. We ended up spending $800 more for a 3 night stay vs. the cost of a value brand hotel- but it was totally worth it.
We checked in on a Sunday. They were 100% booked, but when I checked in I was upgraded because they had availablility. Our room wasn't ready until 5:00 p.m. which was a little inconvient because we had dinner reservations at 5:20 at Goofy's kitchen & we wanted to get cleaned up ahead of time. They did however issue our key cards & allow us to use pool etc.
We brought our 10,8 & 3 1/2 year old. They loved the pool. My 3 yr old stayed in the splash pad area, while my older boys ran from pool to pool & played on water slides.
The staff was the best! Loved the hotel & atmosphere.I would highly recommend! Downside was the monorail didn't open until 10am so even though they are close it was a 10 minute walk from downtown disney!

My husband, 8 year old daughter and I stayed one night at Disneyland Hotel in March 2012. In short, the hotel lived up to our expectations and delivered reasonable value for money. Given we only stayed a night we wanted a hotel that was well positioned to the theme parks, clean, comfortable beds and had that DIsney feeling...and it did! The renovation has hit the mark in terms of offering contemporary amenities and facilities.

The hotel upgraded our room, offered us extra fast passes and was obliging in every sense. While we prefer a more intimate style of hotel normally (the hotel is large), Disneyland Hotel serves its purpose well. While we didn't use the pool -the weather was cold and raining, I can imagine it would be wonderful if the weather was fine and you were staying longer.

The only downside for us was the monorail which normally connects you easily into the park was down for scheduled repair, so we had to walk the 10-15 or so minutes to the park. Not exactly what you need when you have walked around all day, but the walk does at least take you through downtown DIsney and all the shopping and restaurants. Might be worth checking this if you travel at off peak times as we did. If I had known, I might have considered the Grand Californian instead.

What's not to love about DIsney.

Great to stay so close to the park. We paid for upgrade to deluxe room. Nice room, but smaller than appears in pictures, and no table for in room meals. Regardless, the service and staff (cast members) are exceptional! If you can swing it, it's worth staying in the Disney complex.

We stayed in a refurbished room here. The room was fantastic; a real treat for my daughters. Loved teh bedtime stories for kids on the TV. Pool area was great. It was a surprisingly long trek to the parks though, and for that reason, we now choose to stay at a closer hotel on Harbor Blvd. given the price of this hotel. But if you want some Disney magic, it certainly has that in spades. If the prices were close, I would advise that people stay at the GCH due to its proximity to the parks.

The updated room was very stylish and spacious, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The amenities allowed for the perfect marriage of my business trip with a fun get away for the kids (the pool and waterside were a big hit). The staff was very attentive and helpful. We will definitely be staying there again!
