“Awesome hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2006

I loved this hotel; this was my first time staying at the Park Vue Inn. I have stayed in Anaheim three times and no doubt I would choose this hotel again.

When we arrived at noon, out hotel was ready for us right away as I had requested an early check-in. We walked into our room and were very pleased with the layout and cleanliness. We had a plasma tv and fireplace with a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom with a vanity both in the bathroom and outside of the bathroom. As an added bonus there were housecoats and new slippers in the closet.

Every morning we received a complimentary newspaper. The breakfast room was ok. It had toast, muffins and other pastries with juice and coffee. You could purchase cereal or yogurt there as well. Our rooms were kept very clean and there were always extra towels for the pool. The bathroom was stocked everyday with soap, shampoo and lotion.

Our girls loved the pool and we were there at least four times during our stay. Although the lawnchairs were older, they were in great shape and comfortable. There was always a basket of clean towels by the pool as well.

We used the laundry room twice. It was $1 to wash and $1 to dry and you could purchase soap there for a $1 as well.

You can't beat the location of this hotel. It is right across from Disneyland and also close to many restaurants. I recommend Mimi's just to the right of McDonalds. They had unbelievably great food, large portions and really good prices. We ate there often.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and accommodating, never hestitating to assist us such as calling us a taxi or taking care of our rental car.

I will be staying at this hotel in the future and recommending to all my other friends in Canada who will be travelling to Anaheim.

  • Liked — Location, clenliness and friendlt staff
  • Disliked — Did not cash traveller's cheques
  • Tips/Secrets — Check out Mimi's restaurant to the right of McDonald's -- Awesome food and prices.

My review comes from a "first time in USA Englishman" view point so forgive me if some details seem old to the more experienced among us.

This hotel has an excellent position in relation to acessing disneyland (if not THE best compared to competitors): All you do to get to Disneyland is cross the street. Very useful when travelling by foot, or returning to your hotel in a hurry or tired etc.

If you do use a car during your stay, it can be parked on site for free, and close to your room if you're lucky.

We found the cold temperature of the water in the pool took some getting used to, but our children used it every day. The pool itself has been thoughtfully landscaped so as not to be over looked.

The on site gift shop is marvelous, has Disney goods at much lower prices than the attraction, and very helpful staff who also advise about Disneyland.

The on site laundry is a god send, and cheap. However, swimming costumes can easily be dried in the room using the conveniently situated A/C fan.

Breakfast is continental in style: toast, muffins, pastries, drinks etc. cereal, milk and yogurt are available but be aware: they cost a dollar each. Any of these can be taken back to your room and stored for use later if you wish (For those of us unfamiliar with travelling in the USA, this is a regular feature, especially as every room has a fridge).

All rooms are as well equiped as stated in the hotel's information with A/C, microwave, ironing board and fridge. However, the bathroom should really have its own basin, and the option of a bath would be nice (shower / tub combination really means a high sided double shower).

P.S. It's rather a shame that Salesmen may approach you as you leave the hotel. (See review entitled: "beware the Park Vue" for details). This could give people a differant impression of the hotel, but as their offer is for USA citizens, we 'escaped' . You could say you're Canadian if you don't have a foreign accent.

  • Liked — Closeness to Disneyland
  • Disliked — No basin in bathroom
  • Tips/Secrets — Kids only eat free after 4 p.m. at IHOP restaurant if item is from kids menu, and adults pay a lot.

We stayed at the Park Vue Inn the end of July, GREAT Location and price, just 5 minutes from Disneyland Gate. The Conteniental Breakfast was OK, but IHOP is right next door, we were able to take a break for lunch and a swim in the pool during the day to get refreshed. Very clean and the staff was excellent, we left Saturday night and we were able to leave our car parked there , so no parking fees, but we checked with hotel staff first. We will certainly be back, we were very pleased

We just stayed at Park vue Inn and it was alright stay. It is across the street from the entrance so you can't beat the location. The bed was very soft which made it very uncomfortable for my wife. The breakfast simply consisted of dry toast (NO PEANUT BUTTER!) small muffins and some donuts plus tieny tiny juice cups and coffee. You had to pay extra for cereal, yogurt etc. There is no internet access in the room plus the hotel is too cheap to pay for cable so you simply get the local channels (which are very fuzzy) plus some cable channels off of the satellite. The pool was very clean but the pool chairs definetly need an upgrade. At night it was very cool to watch the fireworks from your room. All in all it was an ok place to stay but I would try something different if I returned to disneyland.

PS..........To avoid the guy out front selling the disney timeshare promotion say you are from Canada and they will leave you alone.

We were worried about staying here as there had been some poor reviews, but opinions seemed to have improved and it received high praise. Location is excellent as it really is across the road from Disney. We were allowed to check in early and the staff were helpful and friendly, but a little "jobsworth". The breakfast was very basic, toast, fruit and pastries. The shop on site was very good and sold most things. We had 4 rooms for 8 days and one of the rooms had a flood and some clothes were ruined. It took ages for the plumber to arrive and even then there was a drip. Also the hotel is very noisy, not from guests, but from the maids starting work very early and talking very loudly and laughing a lot at 6.00 a.m. Overall I was not impressed. It was cheap but I would not stay there again. The flood was disappointing and not handled well. There are several other hotels within walking distance of Disney, so Park Vue would definitely be off my list.

We were not staying at this hotel but on our way back to the hotel we were staying at, a gentleman from the Park Vue approached us and told us they were giving out $100 in Disney Dollars for 1.5 minutes of our time, all we had to do was listen to a speil and tell people at home about their hotel. We had our 2 children and were exhausted from an all day Disneyland visit, but said, what the heck, 90 seconds of our time.
We walked in to the lobby where ther was a lady at a desk who explained that in order to get our $100, we would need to be bussed off the premises where we would be treated to subway sandwiches (oooohhhhhh!) and we would need to listen to an hour and a half speil about some timeshare in Napa Valley (I am sure it would not be a high pressure environment).

We politely told her we were not interested and left. I vowed that regardless of the price/value, i would never stay at this hotel due to the misleading and lying that we experienced. I can't imagine what it would actually be like to stay at this hotel.

Beware the Park Vue and the lying employees that they employ

Arrived in Anaheim for a month's holiday in the USA. After many many weeks of planning and reviewing on Tripadvisor we arrived at Park Vue Inn and shown a room very different to what I had expected and requested confirmation of prior to leaving. There were five of us 2 adults, 3 girls, 2 x teenager, 1 8 yr old. Mgmt agreed the room we were allocated would be very tight fit with roll away and luggage. They then offered me additional room for extra US20.00/night. Then gave us a wonderful extra room with jacuzzi in adults room. So top marks. We had five nights with the girls and Mum and Dad able to get some space after busy days in Disneyland. Our bed was soooo comfortable - the best bed we have slept in for a long time- even better than home.

The pool area we found very good. Not busy so had lots of fun. Vrey private with shrubs etc and very sunny.

Breakfast was adequate - hey it is included which is something new for us in NZ. Our eldest loved the pastries. The fruit was wonderful - lots of flavour. You can take it back to your room as well. Coffee - well it was as good as you can get in the States!!

Location to Disneyland is fantastic. When your feet are sore and you just want to lay down - seeing the PVI as hundreds wait for shuttles makes you feel quite smug!!

Overall - most of the hotels in the area are on a par from the exterior so the Park Vue Inn is probably in line with all the others.
We would recommend it to others as they did us a good deal.

The 711 a couple of blocks down the road is great.
