“Just what is needed on a budget! Great location, clean, friendly & a pool!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

Stayed here based on reviews from this site for our trip to see the Angel's play at Anaheim Stadium and to go to Downtown Disney and see some Disney Fireworks outside of the park with our 7yr old son. The Anaheim Islander was easy to get to and check in, very friendly front desk clerk. The Islander Inn is small but adequate with a pool that we really enjoyed! No it is not heated. The rooms are normal and have your needed microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge/freezer, blow dryer and TV and table with 2 chairs. I do wish they would install more electrical sockets in each room, badly needed with today's smartphones, tablets & laptops! The beds & pillows were fine for us, no complaints at all really with the Islander! The breakfast is in the main front desk area and is simple with a large of Apples and a assortment of pastries, donuts & mini muffins. Knowing this, I brought a toaster with English muffins and microwave bacon and eggs! A/C worked fine. We were conveniently located to run across the street to eat at Johnny Rockets,(also Bubba Gumps & Fire & Ice is there etc) and easily walk to Downtown Disney and the parks of course are right there as well. Just a short drive down the street to the Angel's Stadium as well! A perfect hotel for us and our tight budget! Very friendly! Nice Polynesian feel to the hotel. Looks like a new hotel or something is being built next door too.

Room Tip: Any room is fine, it's a small hotel. Parking can be tight! If you can't find a space, just...

Great place to stay! We were in Anaheim to see two Cubs games and visit Mickey's place. The location is perfect, right across the street from the Garden Walk which was great for restaurants but so little shopping - five minutes from DLR and eight minutes from Angels Stadium. The beds were heavenly, the WiFi was super fast, clean and quiet. Bathroom was on the small side but we didn't spend a lot of time in it. Staff at the front desk was very professional and nice, housekeeping was great. We ate in Downtown Disney or the parks for breakfast so didn't need the free stuff. Good value - this will be our go-to place in Anaheim!

What can I say - we were pleased with our stay. We spent 2 nights - the night prior to a one day visit at Disneyland and then a good night sleep after walking all day there.
It's only 15 mn walk to the entrance - we had our 4 yr old in the umbrella stroller and our 8 yr old walked with us.
It's across the Aneihem Garden Walk - great place to go with the kids the night before to burn down energy before going to sleep.
Room was clean - we had 2 double beds and a couch. I'd recommend to get better pillows!!! They were a little too 'fluffy'. But hey the beds were great, we slept good. Wifi worked better if I moved closer to the window.
The one thing I would say the fridge smelled when we got there, bc it was unplugged so the ice melted... but once it was back up, it was good.
We thought Breakfast was good - muffins and donuts, and juice - we're not eating a big breakfast anyway at home, so that was perfect! Front desk was very nice and pleasant.
If we go back, we'll stay there. No brainer - :)

Room Tip: I forgot our room #, we were on the 1st floor - it was quiet. I'd ask to be on the 2nd floor ot...

This was a nice clean hotel/motel. It was about a 15 minute walk to Disneyland which was nice. We had a nice size room (Queen Deluxe) for 5 of us. They advertised a breakfast, but it was just orange juice, coffee, apples and sweet, sugary pastries which I couldn't stomach first thing in the morning. I only drank the coffee and we ended up eating breakfast elsewhere. Aside from that, the property was well maintained. They had a small pool, although we never had the time to use it and it was conveniently located around many restaurants and had free parking which was great.

The rooms are average for what we paid for at $89 a night with free parking. Walking distance was about a 10 minute walk with nearby stores to stock up on snacks and drinks. We brought our own food in for the day and dined in the park for dinner. The carpet was dirty and we walked around with sandals on but the beds were okay and the bathrooms were small. There was a fridge in the room with a microwave and a small safe to keep your valuables. For the price I would recommend this motel but if you want to spend a little more for a close location you might want to look at the Best Westerns in the surrounding area.

Here is the deal. We were looking for a clean family oriented 2 room suite. Check. We wanted 3 queen beds instead of a pull out couch. Check. We would like it within walking distance of Disneyland. Check. We would like to walk to some good restaurants. Check. Free Wifi for all of my families smart devices. Yup. A pool would be great. Check. Oh..... and lastly, we're on a budget. Done. All we wanted was a place to rest at a reasonable price and The Islander was perfect.. Don't get me wrong, The Islander is not a 5 star hotel, but it doesn't pretend to be. It's just a solid place for a family to stay. Throw in a very courteous staff and you have a winner. Give this little independent hotel a shot. It will be our first choice next time we hit up Disney.

The hotel was clean (except for the carpet), housekeeping was great, the breakfast was enough to get you going, and the walk to Disneyland was easy (even with a 1 and 4 year old).
For the price, its a great deal - you get what you pay for - no frills..... but a clean place to stay with a pool to cool off in, and really close to many restaurants. Parking lot can get a bit crowded, but the management make it work.

Would recommend for anyone with older kids or for shorter stays.

No frills, not fancy but a great price (especially when you can get 6 people in one room!!!) - perfect for people spending more of their time at Disney and just need a comfy bed at night.

Room Tip: Second floor, away from the road.
