We stayed for 2 nights prior to a Disney Cruise then 5 Nights afterwards. Rooms were good size, front desk staff without exception were very helpful and acommodating letting us leave bags to go to the parks on both occasions. We had first floor room and ground floor. Both rooms were fine. Dealing with some issues we had read about prior to our stay,

1. The Free breakfast, considering it was free it was fine we had something most mornings and although i agree coffee was not strong i used the Coffee machine provided and the free coffee from the room which was fine. If you wanted, at the end of the block there is a 7-11 and you could get some higher quality coffee for the room mchine if you wanted to.

2. The carpets, yes we did notice that they made your feet very dirty, we kept flip flops on.

Some other observations,

Pool is not heated, which was fine given how warm it is but if you are someone who dives right in it might be a bit of a shock.

Rooms were well equipped best item for me was full sized refridgerator. Great for keeping the beer from the 7-11 cool.

Pool area is very nice, we spend quite a bit of time just chillin and splitting our park days into 2 sessions

Walk to the park was about 10 minutes no problems. The Anahiem garden walk with shops and lots of nice eating places right across the street.

At the end of the block across from 7-11 was around 6 or 7 places doing Pizza,it was very nice, Indian and Chinese food, Subway and more besides.

Further up towards Disney were the usual chains, such as I Hop and Dennys. Best of those was Mimis, they do a great takeaway lunch deal for a family for around 20 dollars.

All in all a good value hotel with good facilities and freindly staff, so despite the minor issues we would have no hesitation in rebooking if back in Anahiem.

Clean , big rooms,can accommodate 5 people with out extra cost . Did disney and took a break (nap) and went back for the night. Left car at hotel ,save on parking and getting on bus agg that looked like a pain . Lots of places to eat , staff was great price was fair , I reccomend ..

True enough....i have been loyal to the Islander Inn Anaheim for the past 12years and counting. I have been to many motels around Katella since my teenage years (Apollo Inn, Magic Carpet, Samoa to name a few) but never felt like being in Katella if it wasnt in Islander Inn. Its true that there are great motels around the area offering at lower rates but what stands out in Islander is its friendly owners, staff, its family warmth and security. i have seen how the rooms improved in standards incredibly for the past 12years. Whats great is Islander is situated next to the ART n OCTC bus stop (great routes to Mall of Orange, Huntington Beach n so forth). Its also across to Bubba Shrimps and the Anaheim Garden Walk. For Indian tourist, opposite the motel is the Ramada that have an Insian restaurant. 3 mins away is yr 7-eleven store and fast food joints like Panda Express n Subway n 10mins to Disneyland. Just around the bend its the Convention Centre. Had great memories in Islander....and next month I am off with my wife and son to Disneyland again...and to the Islander Inn again :-) Jeff Hamid

My brother and I stayed 6 nights in a two-bedroom unit. We found the beds to be fine, the room was kept very clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We did not try the continental breakfast, since there was a fridge in the room we pretty much stocked up on fruit & such and did breakfast on our own. The walk to Disneyland was about 15 minutes at a brisk pace, 20 on the way back when we were tired. The pool looked nice, but we never spent any time there.

I would recommend this place as a good value, you can't beat the space in the rooms (they were larger than most in which I have stayed) and the proximity to the disney parks is good. We will likely stay there again next time we go South.

The only negative for me was the TV. Very few channels available, and a couple would just stop coming in during whatever we were watching. We certainly did not come to Disneyland just to watch TV, but it would be nice after a long day at the parks to be able to kick back and watch something. Again, this is a very minor complaint. You can do a lot worse in the area (and we have!).
