We initially reserved an "office room" that had a refrigerator and microwave, but later was able to switch that to a Disney view room for the same price. We stayed at building #1 on the 7th floor and could see the Monorail tracks, the top of the white/gray mountain (is that called the Matterhorn?), and the Tomorrowland bronze-colored structure from Disneyland. In the distance, I could see the Paradise Pier ferris wheel and the Screamin' roller coaster from DCA. The place is clean-clean-clean. Even the corners of the bathroom mirrors were clean. Kudos to Esther (I think that was her name) the cleaning lady assigned to our room who was very thorough and prompt in cleaning our room. We left our room to eat breakfast at around 7:30, by the time we came back by 9am our room was done! It was too chilly for me to even consider taking a dip in the pool, but I think some with hardier consistencies enjoyed it because the pool had its share of swimmers. A huge plus was the game room where my son and I spent some waiting time. The gift shop is great! From ice cream bars, to toiletries, to souvenir items I think they have it all. For those of you who can only sleep in total darkness, ask for a room that is NOT on the 7th floor of building 1. My husband hardly slept the 3 nights we were there because our room had these pretty glass arches that let light in. It seemed like the sun rose earlier in California and set later too! It can also be an issue if you try to ask preschoolers to take a nap in the afternoon. It's really bright in there. But our room looked exactly like the room that's posted on their website. I just didn't realize the arches were going to be a problem for my boys.

My family of four stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in March and overall enjoyed our stay. When we first checked in we were placed in what was deemed to be a non-smoking room in building 3 only to discover that someone felt the rules did not apply to them and left the room smelling of smoke. The hotel was very accommodating and immediately moved us to a room that did not smell of smoke. Thankfully they still had some space to do this otherwise we would not have been able to stay.

The unfortunate part was that the room we were first assigned to was larger with the extra sink outside the bathroom and had a full balcony. The room we were relocated to had no extra sink and no balcony which would have been nice as the weather was great while we were there. The kids enjoyed the pool daily which was very clean and warm. Kudo's to the hotel's housekeeping and maintenance staff for keeping the rooms and grounds looking great.

We were located in building 3 and had no complaints about any traffic noise. We all slept well every night. The laundry facilities were also great.

The walk to Disney was not a problem. 10 minutes at an easy pace.
We would definately stay here again.

We stayed at the HOJO for 3 nights and we loved it . The staff are really friendly and were always available to answer any questions. The pools were really good and clean and alot of free towels beside the pool for use. The room wasnt noisy , we were not on the highway side. There are plenty of laundry facilities and the gift shop is great for anything you may have left at home . The games room is also great for both kids and the young at heart . The walk to disney is quite comfortable and mcdonalds is on the way if you are really tired at the end of the day . The security was really good and the guard was quite friendly , we didnt feel unsafe at all at this hotel . We would definetely stay here again . For us it felt like we were at the Gold Coast .

Pros:
1. We booked early because we knew that it would be Spring Break. We shopped online and got a great bargain...and our family of four was not disappointed. A 2-Queen room on the top floor (7th) in Building 1 facing Disneyland - the room was clean, bright/cheery, and very comfortable; it had a high ceiling with lots of windows; and a small balcony allowed us to view the fireworks each night. The extra sink outside of the bathroom made "getting ready" much easier in the mornings.
2. The hotel is a walking distance from the park, only about a ten minute walk. We figured that if we can walk back and forth between Disneyland and California Adventure, we can certainly handle the short walk back. And because the hotel is situated away from a cluster of hotels and traffic, it felt less claustiphobic.
3. The staff were all professional and friendly from the housekeeping, maintenance, to the front desk. We especially appreciated that they treated our teenagers like adults.
4. There was a small convenience store in Building 1, which had everything that you could possibly image. I'm just amazed that they can pack so much in such a little space. They carried everything from fruits and snacks to toiletries to souveneirs. The ladies who worked there were full of the "aloha spirit"; it made me little homesick.
5. I especially appreciated the laundry room, which was located in the basement by the housekeeping area. There were multiple washers and dryers available. I suggest that clothes be washed during the mornings when majority the guests are at the park; it can get a bit busy at night.
6. Lots of folks mentioned the traffic noise in their reviews, but we honestly didn't notice them. It could be because of the location of our room, but we went to bed each night with the sounds of the monorail and a smile...Disney magic?

Cons:
The room had a mini refrigerator (good), but no microwave (bad). It would have made it much easier, not to mention less costly, if there was a microwave.

So would we recommend this hotel? A great big YES! For the price, this location is a bargain! Would we stay here again? YES! It definitely made this Disney trip special for my family. And the smile on my husband's face when he looked at the Matterhorn and the monorail from our room everyday...priceless. Mahalo!

Room was very clean, housekeeping was great. Location is the best thing about this hotel. It is within walking distance to the parks. Hotel staff was knowledgeable and helped us find a grocery store and drugstore. We even forgot our DVD movies there, and they were kind enough to mail them to us. Noise is not a factor if you pay the money for an interior room away from the freeway. You MUST try Mimi's cafe. It is the best place we ate all vacation!

My husband and I stayed here 6-10 March 2005. We had booked our room online for a king bed room. After the first night I rang the front desk to change to another room as the highway noise NEVER stopped all night. They were happy to change us and put us in the room furtherest away from the freeway which ended up being great. The front desk did tell me that all the king bed rooms are at the front of the hotel and are the noisest..so worth remembering when you make a booking. We did have problems with the front desk when we purchased a disneyland pass we wanted to pay by cash and travellers cheques and before we could even tell him this he had put it on our credit card which was attached to our room..they didn't even ask us! It ended up taking about 4 working days to get the money back into our accounts. The pool looked nice but not hot enough for us to swim. Not much to do at night, but Minnies has great meals and so does Tony Roma restaurant.

My family and I stayed for 3 days. They gave us ajoining rooms with no problems. We also stayed in blg. 5, the freeway was noisy with the patio door open but I was there for disneyland and understand where I am and how much I am paying. The pool was great, staff was friendly, room was clean... a cont. breakfast would have been great. The only thing was the toilets where odd and the taxes on bill at checkout were unpleasant, and the walk from disneyland after a full day was a bit long (but not unbareable)... overall: this hotel is good for the money and expect little problems.
