“2nd Stay did not disappoint!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

My family and I stayed at the Hojo Anaheim in October 2012. This was our second stay and we were just as impressed this time! I am a travel agent and have seen/stayed at many of the hotels in the Anaheim area. The Howard Johnson is hands down the most consistently good hotel in that area. The service is friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious. The hotel is clean and the cleaning staff are great.
We love that it is within walking distance to Disneyland and would often go back to our room mid afternoon for a break and a swim. Our room had a mini fridge, microwave and Kuerig coffee maker (which we enjoyed the convenience of!).
The gift shop in the hotel was handy and the staff there was very friendly. The pools were great and the hot tub was nice after a long day on our feet.
If we plan on returning to Anaheim in the future, we will choose to stay at the Hojo again!

Room Tip: I highly recommend booking a room that faces the park so that you can enjoy the fireworks from your...

We just spent a week there with our 8-year-old grandson and adult son. It was walking distance to the entrance to Disneyland and also walking distance to family restaurants such as McDonalds, IHOP, and other local cafes. The hotel has a very nice kids water play area with slide, giant water bucket that fills and spills, and water cannons. And there's a video arcade there as well though we never had the time to try it out. The hotel also has a small store that has things like single-portion cereal boxes, snacks, milk, t-shirts, and other trinkets and essentials. We were assigned two rooms just down the hall from the arcade and store on the street-level floor and originally worried that it would be too noisy but after staying there we decided that it was a fabulous location, easy to get in and out (no queing up for the elevator), and handy to the store. Parking was free which doesn't come free with all the area hotels so we walked to Disneyland every day. It's close enough that you can see and hear some of the Disneyland fireworks which was fun for the grandson though noisy for us on the days we didn't stay to see the show. The place is a bit dated but our rooms were very clean and came equipped with a mini refrigerator and microwave. There was no free breakfast like some hotels have. All in all, we would stay there again. Can't really beat the location.

Had never heard of "HoJo" hotels until this trip and was very impressed with them. Service at check-in was friendly and quick, just what you want. The room we had was very clean and a good size with 2 double beds and loads of space, also had a handy balcony.

Our room had an older style A/C unit but it was much better than most modern ones and kept the room at a lovely temperature all the time. The TV was brilliant with a built in guide which comes in handy in the US with all the channels and was useful for a chill out after a manic Disney day.

The location of the hotel is spot on with Disney a nice 15 minute stroll away, you also passing a McDonalds, Ihop and Dennys for breakfast. Great place for dinner is directly across the road from the hotel and was very well priced.

All in if we ever do Disney in LA again then this will be my first choice of hotel no question.

I stayed here recently with my brother and boyfriend for a Disneyland and California holiday. The Howard Johnson was fabulous. Easy walking distance to Disneyland and only a short drive to local shops like Walmart or even Knotts Berry Farm. The staff were brilliant and helpful with any and all of our requests. The room was plenty big for the three of us and was always spotless when we returned after a day at Disneyland. I would definitely stay here again.

I just booked our trip tonight but I wanted to comment on how helpful the two people from the front desk were when I called before and after I booked. Their names were Greg and Paula and they were both so friendly. They took the time to answer all my questions and at no time did I ever feel rushed. They even made some very good recommendations about things to do besides Disneyland in the local area. I am looking forward to our trip at the end of May and feel very confident that I booked a great place to stay.

We stay here everytime we go to Disneyland and just returned from a nice 4 night stay here over President's Day weekend. Our room was in building 2, downstairs and near the end of the hall. We loved this location. It was very quiet. At first, we couldn't get our sliding glass door to latch and were concerned we would have to call maintenance, but then we figured it out. I do think there might be something wrong with the latch. Our room was clean and housekeeping was always done when we returned from the parks for our afternoon rest. The beds are very comfortable. Building 2 is our favorite place to stay-less highway noise and bigger rooms, plus a view of the quiet pool. This hotel just has everything you need for your Disneyland getaway, plus it is just a few mins walk to the entrance of the park. The staff are always very nice and helpful. If you are looking for a fancy hotel, this is not it. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable stay, beautiful grounds and landscaping, plus proximity to the parks and inexpensive restaurants, this hotel can't be beat.
