“Okay, questionable value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012 via mobile

My two kids, both under 10, loved the watermark area. I personally thought it was tiny in comparison to pictures seen. After almost 12 hours at Disney, they begged to go and Had a great time. Our room boasted views of Disney including fireworks. We were on the third floor and could hardly see anything. I wouldn't pay the extra for the Disney view room again, if I stayed here. I probably wouldn't stay here again unless my kids begged me. Not that is was horrible because it wasn't. The beds are actually extremely comfortable. It is just for as much as it costs I could stay 2 blocks closer and get the same quality. Two or three blocks after 12 hours at the park is worth it.

Stayed in 2 queens deluxe room . Coming From Australia this was our first family trip to disneyland and we could not have picked a better place to stay for the price. Kids loved the waterpark . Service was great and freindly staff were very helpful. Rooms clean and very comfortable. Great location , walking distance to disneyland and restaurants. Also close to buses and shopping centres made for a memorable holiday experience.

If you are planning on staying at the ho jo get the upgrade to tower 1. Only 15 more a night and you have a perfect view of the fireworks everynight. We were in 713 perfect clear view. As the water was shut off for a bit after swimming they got us right into a room to refresh and go on our was to disney... Although the staff seemed standoffish when asking questions the cleaning ladies were very helpful, thank you for that:) The grounds were kept nice as they are redoing some of the other rooms in the other towers. We were very happy with everything and the walk to disney was not long at all and have several resturants right by... The kdis loved the pool:) Thank you again for the first time wonderful time with our kids to land of make believe... Truely memories that will last forever:)

Room Tip: Tower 1 room 713 perfect view of the fireworks at night:)

We stayed at HJO end of last year in building 5. This time around we were in Building 1 where we had Queen beds compared to the double beds which made a difference. My kids love this place since the water park is great entertainment for them. There are improvements being made while we were there to some of the rooms. The walk to Disneyland is good, not having to depend on a shuttle.

I would recommend staying in building 1. We stayed on the highway side but did not hear traffic due to the double paned sliding door they added to the small balcony. Last year in building 5 we had an old television compared to a flat screen. Also the beds seemed more plush and comfortable. The improvements they are making are good.

Lastly, they do not charge for parking.

Room Tip: Building 1 has elevator and more current

We just met some friends for a quick overnight getaway but found this hotel fr the kids. We went with a 3,4,and 6 year old. This is a great hotel for the kids. There are many restaurants within walking distance. Disneywalk is a good ten minute walk away, so strollers are good for small children. There's a small game room with video games, a gift shop, as well that aren't mentioned in the ads. There's one large "garden" pool that is fabulous. Pool towels are on shelves there fr the guests. There's also a separate waterpark area. This has one decent water slide, two smaller water slides, a wading pool, jacuzzi, and many water features. My 6 y/o preferred the bigger pool but the small water park was a bit hit -- I think it wuld be best fr 18 months to 4 or 5. There are lounge chairs, tables, and umbrellas here but this side gets pretty busy on the weekend, so get there early in order to take advantage of the seating.

Room Tip: We chose a room in the 6100 building (6105). It has a small patio and there is no noise from either...

Stayed once before in the Pirates suite. Couldn't get it this time, so settled for the single room with 2 double beds for 2 adults/3 children.

Room was a little small so thought we'd take the rollaway offer for about $20. Thought it was a one off cost , but, they charge it per night. Maybe you're better off going to walmart and buying one and donating it to the hotel when you leave :)

The bath did not drain properly, and, the shower head was not working properly . I question their commitment to the environment --- on one hand they suggest not changing towels, yet on the other they waste a lot of water by not fixing the bath and shower heads.

Pools were excellent, grounds well maintained, staff always very pleasant.

We stayed in a room overlooking the adult pool. It was quiet (except for the people playing in the pool until 10pm). Air-con was quiet. Beds very comfortable. Coffee great!!

I'd definitely recommend Hojo as a quiet and enjoyable place to stay.

Room Tip: Pool facing rooms quiet -- but, people are in the pool until 10pm , didn't bother me though.

We stayed in a Disneyland view room on the 6th floor of building 1, which was not at all expensive for a "premium" room at a location literally across the street from Disneyland. The room was nice, not lavish or anything, but had comfortable beds, fridge/microwave, enough space to spread out, and a balcony from which we could view the fireworks in the evening. As others have noted, the Keurig in-room coffee maker was great (need to buy bottled water to make coffee as Anaheim city water is not great). Knowing we had a fridge and microwave, we stocked up on breakfast food at TJ's on the way in from the airport -- it was nice to enjoy eating a relaxing meal each morning before heading out into the excitement (and crowds) of Disneyland resort. I'm glad that we did go to a real grocery store, because my one complaint about this hotel is how they advertise the "Main Street Market" as being a place to buy food, etc. Make no mistake, this is a gift shop that sells overpriced bottles of water (there are a ton of these at the hotels near Disneyland). What little food they had in no way justified the description on the website. In terms of location, this is a much better value than the Disney hotels with about the same walk (even closer to Disneyland than Paradise Pier). It was so nice to skip the packed hotel shuttles at the end of the day and walk right back to our hotel. Although the front desk staff were just average, the housekeeping staff kept our room very tidy and even took great care to arrange our child's stuffed animals on the bed each day -- a nice touch!

Room Tip: Book a Disneyland view room and ask for the 6th floor when you check in -- you'll be able to wat...
