“great for the price”

Anaheim Del Sol Inn

We just spent 5 nights at the Del Sol. No, it's not your Hilton, but it is suitable for the price and location. It is set back off from Harbor so you don't have noise from the street. Didn't notice noise from other rooms, either. Most people are at the park and not hanging out in the hotel. It's about as close as you can get to Disneyland. There is one washer and one dryer, but the neighboring hotel has three of each. The breakfast left some of us hungry and you may want to pack some snacks, unless you are a fan of "deluxe pastries." They do have coffee, juice, 2 cereals, danish pastries, and oranges. As mentioned in previous reviews, the staff didn't always leave adequate supplies (towels, toilet paper, coffee) but they were always willing to provide them at the desk. The staff members were quite friendly. The shower had the special talent of letting you know when other people in the hotel turned their showers on by giving you a pulse of hot or cold water :) Overall, the hotel was not spectacular, but it is a good place to get some sleep between days at Disneyland and the hot tub and pool are ways to relax in the evenings. Some side notes: it is next to a Denny's, Captain Kidds, IHOP, and just down the street from Mimi's and Mc Donalds. The close proximity to these restaurants and Disneyland provide a good place to eat meals outside the park. The fridge was large enough to keep plenty of food from the grocery store so we ate lunch at the hotel.

For our Aug 7-10 2007 Disneyland Vacation, I booked the Del Sol Inn for 1 Night and the Disneyland Hotel for the other 2 nights. I visit Disneyland 1-2 times per year and I have stayed at several of the local hotels.

The Del Sol was $100 online ($118 final). It was clean and had comfortable beds, decent shower and towels, spacious bathroom countertop, refrigerator, and air conditioner (no musty smell like at other cheap hotels). Check-in time is 3:00, so we checked our bags at the desk so we could go to the park. Basic, but decent breakfast with fresh oranges, sweet rolls, decent coffee, cereal.

We didn't check out the pool, we spent all our waking hours at the park.

Overall, a great value and good place to crash after a long day at the park.

By the way, I got a "Great deal" of $250/night for the Disneyland Hotel and it was nice, but Del Sol is fine. But my overall favorite affordable hotel in the area is the Fairfield Inn by Marriott (usually about $126 with AAA).

I came to Del Sol nearly two months ago and I had to say it wasn't as bad as some of the reviewers say it is. It's an average motel but with a nice continental breakfast to boot. It was a short walk to the park from the hotel and that was the best part. Our only problem was that the housekeepers sometimes forgot to leave us extra towels when we came back one day from the park. I believe the employee who helped us was named Carolina, she was very friendly. Also, on another night we needed to have our clothes ready for the next day so we called the front desk and an employee who i believed was named Ricardo came down immediately and brought us the iron and ironing board that we needed. The hotel was average but very accommodating. Noise was not a problem, and everything looked clean. We only stayed two nights, but next time we come we'll be sure to stay longer.

I booked this hotel for our trip to Anaheim because I wanted a hotel that was located directly across from Disneyland. I knew from the internet pictures that it was not a fancy hotel but it was rated 3 stars. and the price was affordable for us. When we open the door to our hotel room I was very, very disappointment. The room had a musty smell to it. The walls and carpets did not look clean. It was very unusual in that there was a second door that leads to the next room. Some of the paint on the wall were peeling. Washroom and sink did not look very clean. The worst part was I can clearly hear our next door hotel guest (because of that second door in our room). The next door hotel guest made so much noise they woke me up in the middle of the night. I hated our hotel room. The outside wasn't much better. The hotel was old and unfriendly looking. I would not recommend anyone to stay there.

My family booked a "suite" at the Del Sol (actually just 2 rooms connected by a door) for 2 nights over the weekend and after all was said and done we ended up spending $140 a night per room- a bit hefty considering this is basically a Motel 6!. We were put in rooms 214 and 212, which are right next to the stairs. I immediately noticed the noise from upstairs and outside caused by luggage rolling past and other guests. The walls are thin and the ceiling creaks whenever someone walks above you. The rooms were spacious and clean and had nice amenities like a refrigerator and microwave, but the shower water did change frequently from hot to cold- not great if you have young children or a sunburn! The location was prime, but there were several other places within walking disance to Disneyland that seemed nicer. Parking was also not that great- it was 2 rows of spaces- the second night, we had to park outside in the Denny's parking lot. The staff was pleasant for the most part, and the experience overall was decent. The general concensus of our group, however, was that next time we would stay elsewhere in the area and spend a bit more money for a nicer hotel and room.
