We were just in Disneyland for the Spring Break. Unfortunately this was a last minute trip so we were limited to where we could stay.

The Del Sol is an excellent for location. It is really only across the street, which means you don't have to wait for a bus for pick up and drop off.

Our room was 107, it was very spacious compared to other motels we have stayed in. It fit our family of 4 nicely. However the shower has hot and cold spurts. They really need to get new towels...the ones they supply have been bleached over and over. Being on the lower level was no good if you chose to sleep in as the floor above was very squeaky.

The parking lot is a joke, we parked the entire time in the Denny's parking lot and never had a problem. Breakfast was very "continental" with the exception of a few oranges. We were charged $1.00 per day for the security safe which I think is a crime.

I would not rate this motel as anything special, we normally stay at the Candy Cane Inn which in my mind is 100X better than the Del Sol. Candy Cane Inn's breakfast speaks for itself.

I don't think we will return to this motel.

After reading the mixed reviews I wanted to give this one a try. I stayed 2 nights before moving to Park Vue.

The room was a king, very small, and fixed up, but it looked fixed up. Some parts you could tell was old. It was clean and ok for the location. I paid $74.98 each night. If I had a car I would have stayed at Motel 6 instead for about $50.00 a night and it is nicer and larger than Del Sol.

When I arrived I wasn't to impress with front desk. He had run my credit card already before I arrived for one night. Most run it when you arrive. I did want to use a different card, and he started to run it - then told me he had run the other. I got the slip and made sure I tore it up, so I wouldn't get double charge.

The room is definitely blah, but I didn't expect lots for what I was paying. I wanted to compare it and the Park Vue.

I would only go back to Del Sol for the location and only if I could for some reason not afford the Park Vue. I have seen Del Sol priced as high as $100 night on the web. That is way too much. Even the jazucci at Park Vue with great planning far in advance was only $108.00 a night and the King or double queen can be as low as $81.00.

I personally think this room at Del Sol would have been good for 1 person. I couldn't imagine being closed in with kids.

I won't be returning, but if you get a $50.00 price and want clean and don't mind being no breathing space go for it - the location is good, but Park Vue is also closer.

If possible no matter where you stay book as early as you can. The closer it gets the higher the room goes. I already booked for next year Park Vue jacuzzi suite for $ 98.00 in August.

Happy Planning......

We had room 231. I booked this hotel months in advance because of it's location and price. It was 70/90/90 for an average of 83.00 per night. Now...that was what we thought it would cost but in the end it ended up costing us 50.00 more due to having to park at Disneyland the last day (no parking in their lot after 11 am the day of checkout ) and having to pay half of my sister's room so she could park when we were told AFTER we got there, it was 1 car per room. We had to get her a room.

The Bad:
1. No handtowels/washclothes were replaced.
2. plastic fork was found under the sheets (husband was getting poked by something and we found a plastic fork under the bedding which makes you wonder...do they change the sheets between customers??
3. Hot and cold bursts of water in the shower! OUCH!
4. Bathroom was TINY! Toilet was right up next to the shower. You could almost use both at the same time. It took both hands and bracing yourself to pull the water faucet out to turn the water on.
5. Room was old and poor lighting. Very un-inviting!
6. Our heater blew cold air
7. PARKING! It's just horrible!
They have ONE spot per room. We were told after we got there that we should have assumed this and it's common knowledge for the area. That is very untrue. We have gone to two other hotels in the area and my sister who drove over and hour to join us was always able to park when she stayed in our double room. It is NOT on their website and it is NOT on the printed confirmation I received via email. The desk girl said that that is why we have to sign the paper when we get there because it is an agreement to 1 car per room! BUT..we drove 5 hours to get there and they don't tell you this little gem until after you are there! The option was to park in the Denny's lot out front which is posted tow away for non customers. The desk said that we could park there overnight and had to be out by 8 am. So instead, we purchased another room for the night and my sister went home a day early to avoid more fees. She then had to park in at Disneyland because she was staying the day at the park and parking was only good until 11 am. They give out parking passes. Other hotels let you stay until check in of the new customers at around 3pm. The next evening we went out and returned to no spots! What happened to 1 car per room? So, the front desk had to call one other customer and have them move their care over (it was into another spot..along with every car in the row). They were not happy...but we finally got to squeeze in. They did offer to let us park at Denny's (Wonder how Denny's feels about this practice) and said they would be responsible for towing fees if we were towed away. If we would have had to park there, I would have gotten that statement in writing. Seems to me that they really don't have a spot per room. Or maybe they don't check the car passes because there were more cars than rooms. We could have gotten a room farther away and saved money had we known the parking was such a problem.

The good:
1. They have firm pillows.

All and all...never again! There are plenty more hotels along that strip that give better customer service and nicer rooms. Costs a little more but in the end, we paid more for our room (in parking fees and added room) than we would have at the neighboring hotel.

I was so disappointed in this hotel. We have not had such a bad experience with a hotel in years. Oh, and the insult was that they close the front office at 11pm. You are on your own after that. I found this odd since Disneyland doesn't close until Midnight most nights and that's when most people are just returning to the room.

If you have 2 parties coming in separate cars but sharing a room - you must know that this hotel only allows ONE PARKING SPACE PER ROOM! The hotel advised we can park the other vehicle behind the hotel in the Denny's parking lot, but there are signs posted all over their lot stating that parking is for 2 hrs and only for Denny's customers. This was unacceptable. We were forced to book ANOTHER room so we could have a parking space for the other vehicle. There was no way to know before we got there they only allowed one parking space per room. Neither I nor the other party has a large vehicle, but if you plan to park your SUV or large truck at this hotel, be aware that the one parking space they do allow you is not very accommodating. Many large vehicles in this small parking lot took up more than one space. Ridiculous. We will never stay here again.

We just spent 5 nights at the Del Sol. No, it's not your Hilton, but it is suitable for the price and location. It is set back off from Harbor so you don't have noise from the street. Didn't notice noise from other rooms, either. Most people are at the park and not hanging out in the hotel. It's about as close as you can get to Disneyland. There is one washer and one dryer, but the neighboring hotel has three of each. The breakfast left some of us hungry and you may want to pack some snacks, unless you are a fan of "deluxe pastries." They do have coffee, juice, 2 cereals, danish pastries, and oranges. As mentioned in previous reviews, the staff didn't always leave adequate supplies (towels, toilet paper, coffee) but they were always willing to provide them at the desk. The staff members were quite friendly. The shower had the special talent of letting you know when other people in the hotel turned their showers on by giving you a pulse of hot or cold water :) Overall, the hotel was not spectacular, but it is a good place to get some sleep between days at Disneyland and the hot tub and pool are ways to relax in the evenings. Some side notes: it is next to a Denny's, Captain Kidds, IHOP, and just down the street from Mimi's and Mc Donalds. The close proximity to these restaurants and Disneyland provide a good place to eat meals outside the park. The fridge was large enough to keep plenty of food from the grocery store so we ate lunch at the hotel.
