“Disneyland!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012 via mobile

This hotel is very good for your money. If your a family going to Disneyland on a budget or traving on a budget it's great. Rooms are clean and staff are friendly. There is a small shopping center next door and a few food shops about 5 min walk. Disneyland is just across the road.
The only bad Thing is there really isn't much else around the hotel.

Staying at Anaheim Plaza turned out to be a wonderful experience for our family of six. We had two adjoining rooms each with their own bathroom for a really good price. The rooms are pretty basic but very clean and comfortable. The housekeeping was amazing -- it was such a great feeling to come home from a long day at Disneyland to an immaculately tidied room.

The pool is huge and the hot tub good-sized. The breakfast buffet is phenomenal. While not free, we felt it was so completely worth the price since the quality was so high (and since the price for our rooms was so much lower than at places where the breakfast is free). No stale bagels or over/under ripe bananas here. Excellent breakfast food to help get you started on a big day at Disneyland. The breakfast staff were so, so pleasant and helpful made it such a great way to start out our day. The location was such a bonus. It really was quiet (as I had read in many reviews) and incredibly close to both parks, it was so easy for us to walk from the breakfast straight over to the main gates each morning. And it was very convenient to walk back to with four tired children at the end of the day.

The only drawback was that we were on the first floor, and we could hear absolutely every footfall from the people staying above us. It seriously sounded like elephants were up there. Fortunately they were on pretty much the same schedule as us, going to bed and getting up around the same time as we did, but it would have been really unpleasant if that hadn't been the case. Also, our room had no patio or balcony which I was disappointed about since several of the reviews I had read talked about them being very spacious. But when my husband called the front desk about it, she was very helpful and reassured us that we still had the same square footage, so our room was actually bigger and the rooms in the section where we were staying were a bit more modern w/ newer bedding, etc. This actually did help me feel better and I appreciated having bigger rooms.

Overall a fantastic place for our family to stay. It met our needs so well. It really helped enhance our Disneyland experience and we'll have great memories of this place. Will definitely consider staying here again (my kids really want to!).

ROOM DESCRIPTION: 2nd floor room with balcony, have had 1 king or 1 queens and all beds have been average. (I have stayed here several times and have always liked the service and my rooms)
THE GOOD: Close walk to Disneyland. The Garden Walk is behind the hotel (food, shopping, movie theater). Nice big pool. Private balcony's to sit outside. DL fireworks can be seen from various areas of the hotel. Car rentals onsite. Breakfast buffet is good.
THE NOT SO GOOD: since the Garden Walk is behind the hotel, you have to walk to the front of the hotel to get outside the fence and walk towards the back-this sucks if your room is already at the back of the hotel-they should have a walkway opening in the back fenced area to go through.

I would definitely stay here again. This is one of my favorite places to stay when going to DL because of the value, proximity to DL, the private balcony's, and decent service.

What you see is what you get. We stayed here recently to visit Disneyland. The rooms are clean and we found the shower good and the beds comfy. It is old and dated but over all it's in a great location, Disneyland is within walking distance and good restaurants near by. The staff were also very friendly.

Need to offer free wifi...

Our beds were like sleeping on rocks, they were so hard & they were very noisy when moving around! The pillows were horrible too!! Our bathroom door didn't close or lock & our water was luke warm even when turned all the way over to hot!!!! The electrical outlets were loose when we plugged things in. The location wasn't too bad. Charging for parking I thought was kind of ridiculous also. Overall, our stay wasn't worth the price & we will NEVER stay there again nor will we recommend this hotel to anyone else!!!

This is a good, budget motel within easy walking to Disneyland. The rooms are large, quite old fashioned but functional. The various buildings are two story with stairs to the second level, so anyone with a disability I would suggest the ground floor. However, you can get noise from the room above as the older style buildins have thin walls and floors.

The check-in staff were very prompt and helpful. It's within a short walk to restaurants, shops and of course Disneyland. They have a scooter rental on site for elderly or disabled, which is great as my husband needed one. They have a Mexican restaurant on site plus you can purchase breakfast (not included) but the choices were better than continental breakfast elsewhere and it wasn't expensive. (9.95 for all you can eat plus less for specific choices) Housekeeping was prompt every day.

Drawbacks: no free Wifi, plus the available pay for wifi in the lobby was very expensive and slow. I sat waiting for the pages to load, so it cost me double what I should have paid if it had been a normal service. Also, very limited safety deposit boxes at the front desk. We had to wait two days to get one, which meant carrying around passports, cash etc, with us during the day.

All in all, the main reason to stay here is the proximity to Disney. No need to catch buses or walk huge distances to get to and from. You are close enough to go back to the hotel for a rest if needed.

It's no beauty, but the Anaheim Plaza is functional, convienient and friendly. Pricing is in line with other motels of this kind close to the parks.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms have easy access for disabled plus a courtyard outside. Ask for a park view if yo...

This is my 5th stay over the years with the motel, and I am still happy with choosing this motel, and would choose them again. (Keep in mind this is a MOTEL and not a HOTEL)

It is not by any stretch of the imagination a full service Hotel. It is a motel. A place to crash when you need to unwind from a day in the parks. The motel is dated but clean. And for the price, you can't really beat it.

There are no special amenities here. It is a clean room with a bed. (There have been concerns with the beds, and I do believe the management has heard that as they are in the process of updating mattresses.)

There is WiFi available at a charge. I believe it was $4.95 (USD) an hour, $9.95 a day, and $49.95 a week and $99.95 for a month. I think an average speed was 2Mbps both up and down. The allow 2 devices per sign up. So you can use it on a laptop and mobile communication device.

Parking also is charged, but I don't usually have a car, and do not know what the daily charge is.

Other amenities on site, Dollar Rent a Car, EVC rentals, Coin Laundry, restaurant and bar.

PROS:

* Very well priced. (AAA membership discounts can help even more)
* Close to the park - if you are a slow walker, it may take up to 15 minutes to be at the gates for the parks.
* Many places to eat nearby. From places on Harbor - to the GardenWalk - to Downtown Disney.
* Some rooms have great views of fireworks.
* Large rooms - Many have balconies or patios (the ground floor patios are largest)
* Friendly staff
* Small refrigerator in rooms. Microwave also in some. (If you need both, you can request it)
* Large well kept pool (Probably one of the largest in the area aside from the park resorts hotels)

CONS:

* While it is clean, it can use an update. (But again for the price, who cares?)
* One of the days there, my room did get cleaned, but they forgot to leave towels. Front Desk took care of it right away.
* Air Conditioner was a new one, but it is next to the bed, so doesn't really cool the whole room effectively.

I stayed in room 540 on this trip and it had a really nice view of the fireworks at night. Over all it was another nice trip. And I do recommend this place to people on a budget that are looking for a nice place to sleep or take quick breaks from the parks.

Room Tip: 2nd Floor park facing room of the 500 Bldg can have good view of fireworks. There is a Target store...
