We are Hilton Honors Diamond so last time when we visited Disneyland and stayed at the Embassy Suites 1 mile from the park, I saw this Hilton..."right next to the park". I used partial points/cash option to stay which included breakfast.
It turns out, it is next to the back of California Adventure but you still have to walk 3-4 large city blocks to the park entrance (0.5 miles one way). This was fine as our youngest is 9 and we don't do a lot of back and forth. It wouldn't work so well for younger kids not in strollers on top of a 5 mile walking day already. Of course you can get a cab.
The room was just there. No real decor (1 wall hanging in the whole room), tiny bathroom, no refrigerator or microwave like its value property brands.)
The breakfast was a grande drink and pastry for 2. That was ok but came with a 20minute line each morning...on top of Disney! A far cry from the hot, lovey buffets we've gotten at other Hilton properties. Another option was a coffee, juice and pastry at their restaurant.
There is a small food court in the convention area of the hotel. We used then for a late dinner one night. They were out of everything so.....another wait....wait....wait for the simplest items.
One thing I expect from Hilton vs. business travel chains is some kind of embellished pool/recreation facility. They did have a kid splash zone...the kind that is a jungle gym with a bucket of water on top that dumps to the horror of those below. It was fun for 3-11 year olds to some extent....two hot tubs and a moderate sized warm pool all enclosed by the hotel on 4 sides. There was plenty of room for everyone using the facility.
No bill was placed under the door so we had to line up again to check out old school at noon on the day we left. Self park was $16/day and they graciously let us park just before noon on the day of our first night even though check in wasn't until 4pm.
Few elevators to service several wings of rooms.
I am thankful for award travel but I don't think I would spend the rack rate for this hotel if traveling to Disney with a family.
The search continues for the perfect "GO TO" property to launch from for Disney.
