I work for a company that offers this hotel as one of our Anaheim/Disneyland properties, so I was really looking forward to not only staying here and checking it out, but getting a feel of its location in conjunction to Disneyland.
We had booked the Sahara Kitchenette Suite, and I liked the room alot. It has a living room/parlor area with sofa sleep, sitting chair, tv, then a table and chair set that can fit four, seperate bedroom area with two double beds, and a FULL SIZE kitchen with stove/oven/microwave, sink, fullsize refrigerator. The unit also contains all the cooking/eating utensils you can possible want/need.
We squished in our family of 6 1/2 (traveling with a baby, so he slept with us. ) and while it was a bit crowded for 3 adults, two teens and a baby, we did just fine and there WAS ample room for us all, when we all actually WERE in the room. Decent size bathroom, although only one, so we had to get really creative in the morinings with the showering and all. Room was very neat and clean (and I am a MAJOR germphobe...so...) as was the kitchen and dishes and utensils.
Check in at the front desk was short and sweet (we got in late that evening) and they were exceedingly kind and helpful. Nice little pool area in a courtyard, but we never had time to indulge. I did see many kids and families relaxing in it though.
The only two negatives: Our "view" in the room was of the rooftop, so we all laughed about that. But I wasn't there for a "view"...if I GOT a room with a "view" that would have been a bonus, but otherwise, I didn't give a darn about a "view". If I want a room with a "view"...I will go to HAWAII! And PAY for it .
The other "negative" is that while this hotel IS within walking distance to the main entrance of the two parks, it is a pretty good walk, about 15 minutes, so wear comfy shoes. I can't believe how many dingy broads , all in the name of "fashion" were runing around in heels and what not. These are the same dingbats who I saw later that night hobbled and limping, all in the name of "looking good". PLEASE, Get your comfy sneakers, vans, whatever, and walk it. it is actually a nice walk. I didn't check to see about any bus or shuttle service so....there might be one for a nominal fee.
But all in all, I was very pleased with this room and I would stay there again, especially in THIS particular suite. My family liked it as well. We loaded up on juices, waters, sodas, lunchmeats, bread and snacks and kept them in the fridge/cabinet, then brought some in with us to the park too (saving us a bit of cash on $2.75 waters!!!) Brought fruit roll ups and baggies of crackers for the kids too. But yeah, I would recommend this hotel to my friends, family and clients.
