Stayed at the Jolly Roger Inn on January 30th to February 1st and enjoyed our visit. We were down for the half marathon in Huntington Beach. I feel much more comfortable staying in the Disneyland Resort area (staying here at other properties) and we were looking for something economical.
At the Jolly Roger, the rooms are pretty basic. You stay at this property if you are on a budget and all you are looking for is a place to sleep. The beds were on the stiff side and the pillows are pretty basic. The cleaning service was excellent. Our room was done by the time we came back (this is crucial when you have small children needing naps). The front desk was extremely helpful. I did ask the front desk for a couple of extra pillows, which was no problem. They have one of the nicer pools that we have experienced in Anaheim (it was a warm weekend and our kids loved the pool!).
One downside, our room had an older television in need of replacement. There was blotches of green hue on different parts the screen.
Also, there is no contintental breakfast, if you are factoring that into your budget.
It is definately within walking distance to the park (about 1/2 mile to the gate).
When staying here, keep in mind this is a basic hotel. That said, we feel we will be staying here again, and is our first choice when looking for something economical, especially since we want to spend our money more in the park and the area.
