I recently booked and attempted to stay at the Jolly Roger Anaheim Hotel. We arrived very late at night and after unpacking all of our stuff into the room we started seeing all of the creepy crawlers, yes i had read some previous reviews but thought I would give it a try worst mistake i have ever made. After my husband left looking for a different hotel for us to stay at I started looking around the room and it was filthy the floors hadnt been vacummed and like I said before there were bugs crawling around every where. I wouldnt recomend this hotel at all.

We sincerely apologize that your recent experience was less than impressive. The comfort and enjoyment of our guests, along with the cleanliness of our property, are top priorities at our hotel. Please be assured that we are aggressive and proactive in our approach with our mandated pest control policies and our pest control contractor conducts routine fumigation and other pest control programs throughout the hotel. Also, our housekeeping staff continuously strives to keep all our guestrooms and public areas fresh and pristine, and we are disappointed that it did not reflect on your experience. My friend and I stayed here in early December for 4 nights and were happy with our accommodation. With our international flight arriving early in the morning we booked the night before to ensure a room was waiting at check in (and had no hassles). We found all of the staff helpful and took advantage of the safety deposit boxes in the reception area. The hotel is an easy stroll to the many restaurant and take away options as well as a convenience store across the road. I found it very handy to book a day tour through the company located on site at the hotel (also the pick up/drop off location).

We chose here due to its close proximity to Disney. There are closer hotels but Jolly Roger is within a reasonable distance (even after walking around the amusement park all day, it isn’t too far). We found the room to be clean and met all of our expectations. With two large suitcases we moved furniture around a bit to have sufficient space which was fine.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel – the price and location speaks for itself.

Stayed for 3 nights, family of four. Chose for proximity to disneyland and great price. A good no nonsense place to stay. Everything worked, room was clean and staff were incredibly helpful, particularly Richard. We would stay again.

Room Tip: 2nd floor is much quieter.

Staying at the Jolly Roger will save tons of $$ on parking alone,since the convention center charges are outragious! Free parking here, and just walk up the street to the cc. BTW, there is a Starbucks at Hilton which is the hotel between CC and JR, or the Marriott across from them. Everything was nearby! The staff were all terrific in giving advise for local restaurants, and directions. I had a wonderful 6 night stay. This is not a swanky place, and no restaurant nor elevator on the premises at this time, (that's why the 4 stars), but more of a 2 story family style hotel, with rooms facing the parking. I found the place was clean, and everyone very helpful, and friendly, and would recommend you stay here.

Stayed at the Jolly Roger for 5 nights, Dec 2012.

Although the hotel is not brand new, nor a "Hilton or Four Seasons" I was pleasantly surprised with the size and quality of the rooms.

Affordable nightly rates that included in-room wifi, hotel had guest laundry & pool.

Office attached to hotel reception is actually a tour company which my friend & I used for a 9 hour tour around LA, Hollywood, Stars Homes, Santa Monica & Venice Beach. Tour bus picks you up infront of the hotel reception entrance and drops you off back to your hotel.

Safe deposit boxes available at reception for free - first in, first serve. No liability is taken for missing items from the boxes (nothing happened to us, so I'd still recommend using them). Found the hotel staff very friendly & accommodating.

Within walking distance of the Disney park gates, 7Eleven across the road for incidentals. Their in-hotel restaurant is closed right now for renovations however, it is within walking distance of restaurants and cafes to suit all budgets.

Not sure of the reason for sub-standard reviews. My friend & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A pleasant experience all round.

We just came back from a stay here. The hotel having just been given a make over? The room was small, too small I felt. We just had 2 adults and 1 child but I felt like we were on top of each other if we moved around. Im not sure if the hotel has more rooms inside or just the outside rooms where we stayed. We didn't have a micro or fridge. We also had some technical difficulty i.e. power went out twice but came on quickly. The fixtures in the shower and sink were loose, but since im not living there not gonna fix it. Shower could've had more pressure. Bed's were clean and comfortable, blanket's were thin and one had holes in it. The room had a heating unit which we used a lot it was cold in the room. I know that t.v. is not important since your probably going to spend all day at one of the themepark's. But we were there with a 5 year old so we returned to the room for a break. It would've been nice to have had some channels other than new's or that didn't work. No guide on the t.v. either so you weren't sure what you were watching. A shuttle service is available for 5 buck's pp per day. The hotel is located about 10 min walk around the block from Disney Resort. But if you do that walk twice a day after walking thru the park's all day your feet are killing you by the end of the first day. And the restaurant closed down don't know what the story with that is. So that makes that side of the parking lot really dark a bit scary if your walking back at night because it's basically an abandoned building . The front staff was very friendly best part of our stay. I know that most families want to do the budget package, but I do like a little bit of luxe since we don't often get this kind of experience at home. I think next time I will splurge to have some extras to make my stay special and unlike the "real world".

An old hotel which is soon to be undertaking reservations. Nothing fancy although good for an overnight stay so would certainly recommend for us. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Restaurant is closed at present.
