My family of nine stayed at Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites in the middle of January. We got two parlor A suites that had a connecting door. It worked out really well. The rooms have two queen beds in the room and a sofa bed in the front room. There is a door that separates the front room from the bedroom area. We had 4 tv's between the two rooms. One in each front room and one in the bedrooms. Everyone could pretty much watch whatever they wanted. When we checked in, the people at the front desk were really nice. Check in and checking out was a breeze. I don't think I've ever had it that easy before. The hotel is right across the street from Disneyland which is great. We were on the 4th floor and never heard anything above us. I don't know if there just wasn't anyone above us or if it was just quiet. The kids went swimming and sat in the hot tub. They said the hot tub wasn't warm enough. The breakfast in the morning was pretty pathetic. I've certainly had better, but it fed us. They had apples, oranges, danishes, toast, generic Cheerios and Corn Flakes, milk, orange juice and apple juice. Hotels seem to be going towards the big good breakfasts and this hotel just hasn't caught on yet. The breakfast room is really small too. As for the beds, they were really hard. I did ok, but my sister and her husband had to sleep on the two couches in the front rooms which usually made out into a bed, but they slept on the couch because it was softer. One of the front rooms had a musty smell in it. There was a laundry room and my sister used it. I don't know how many washer and dryers were there, but it was nice to have. The bathrooms were ok. The sink was on the outside of the bathroom which I really like so people can use the sink while other people are in the bathroom. The tub in both bathrooms drained slow. The shampoo that was free was not that great at all. It was really runny. They need to find another brand to use. Also, all you get in the room for free amenities is the shampoo and soap. What was great though was they had enough towels, wash clothes and hand towels for six people. Loved that! The rooms had a microwave and refrigerator which we used a lot. The lighting in the room was good except you had to walk over to the light and push the button. They really need to get light switches installed. The heating/air conditioning unit in my sister's room sounded horrible the first night and she said something to the front desk. They put a brand new unit in the next day. Very impressive. One of the bummer things about being on the 4th floor, meant that you usually need to take the elevator. The elevator was extremely slow. It was always quicker to take the stairs. They have a viewing deck on the roof where you can watch the Disneyland fireworks at night. That was nice. The rooms have shutters on them instead of blinds which I liked. If you stay here and aren't driving, make sure you don't get charged for parking. We made sure we told them we didn't have a car and we didn't get charged. Overall, the room was very inexpensive for us and with being directly across the street from Disneyland is huge. There were certainly flaws, but I will probably stay here again.
Room Tip: This is tough. Stay on 5th floor so you don't have anyone above you, but then you have to deal...
