My family stayed four nights at the Carousel Inn. I will start with the good. Check in was easy and the front desk very nice and cheerfull. The location to Disney was great, but there are many other hotels with a great locations. The best part of the room was the bed. It is extremely comfortable, that is if you can get past the smell of the room to get a good night sleep.
The worst part of our stay here was partly our fault. We left a portable DVD player and our camera charger in the room. I called about 30 min after check out to tell them we had left this behind. I informed the front desk that we were almost to San Diego and if they could just get this from our room and hold it for us we could come back that night to get it. He said that would not be a problem and someone would call us. We went ahead to San Diego and figured maybe they could not get through to us due to our roming cell phone. As soon as we got back to our Hotel in San Diego we called them again. The front desk said they knew nothing about it and housekeeping was gone. Told us to call back in the morning. We called back and they said they would have someone call us right back. We waited for another hour and then called them again. They seemed to pass the buck . By the time we finaly got a hold of a manager she accused us of leaving the door open. They said they did not find anything ( I worked in a hotel for a while and I know to always such the door.)
To top that off when we spoke with the General Manager she in a round about way accused us of lying.
None of the employees stories matched. First we left the door open and it was no longer there. Then it was it took a day to even look for it.
I am not sure if an employee took it, or if they chose not to look for it so the next guest recieved it. Or if a ghost took it. But I do know we had it when we checked in. And I called and asked them to look for it 30 min. after I checked out. I feel this was delt with very poorly, I would not recomend any one to stay here.
I will state again that the front desk was very friendly. We did try to get past the filth in the room and enjoyed our stay, till the very end. So if you decide to stay here, double check your room before you leave. Chances are if you leave something behind you will not get it back.
