“Am amazing holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2011

After just returning from our annual family holiday to the Carousel inn & suites. We are please to report that all the renovations have been completed. Its is now a case of all staff on deck, to make an amazing holiday, just across the road from disney. Our thanks to all the staff for looking after us so brilliantly.

Room Tip: The hotel has a swimming pool, plus children's rooms. All the children's rooms are good valu...

We usually don't stay at the Carousel when we go to Disneyland as the price is usually too high. But, the Disney travel company offered us a vacation package at a great price and we ended up here. I was excited to be able to finally try it out.

I first have to say that I love the shutters on the rooms and also the closing door that allows a person to use the entire bathroom area (toilet/shower area and also closet/sink area) in privacy. Being the only girl in the family, this was a nice change for me.

The breakfast was the normal fair of cereals, donuts, fruit and I think waffles. My donut loving child was in heaven the whole trip as he doesn't get them very often at home. It was nothing special, but was better than no breakfast at all. The room is small, but the view from the room is of Disneyland. What a great way to start your day!

From what my husband and son said, the pool are a little disapointing. There is also no hot tub for weary adults to soak in after a long day of walking.

Where to start ? this was a holiday of a life time and was very very disappointing and I would urge others to avoid this place.
BREAKFAST -the room is small and overcrowded. You use paper cups and plates, plastic knifes and forks. The fruit consisted of apples (old and soft) & oranges (ok). The cereals were cherios, oatmeal & bran/ sultana flakes. the bread, white or wholemeal and the toaster was very slow considering the number of people waiting to use it. The pastries were coated in icing & sugar and very unapertising. the hard boiled eggs were stone cold and terrrible. The juices were apple or orange. There seems to be only one person to service breakfast and therefore things kept running out .
THE ROOMS - while they appeared clean at first glance, there was alot of built up under and behind the furniture. The beds sagged in the edges. There was no milk in the fridge on arrival and no tea making facilites only a coffee machine & coffee. When I questioned the staff for a kettle/jug I was told to boil the water in the microwave and that milk would need to be purchased at the nearby mini mart. The mircowave was dirty and smelt rotten when we used it. We complained to the staff but the mircowave was not replaced. The room was small for a family as there is inadequate facilities to store luggage.
All in all it was a very unpleasant stay and we would never stay there again.

my family ( hubby and girls aged 12 and 9) stayed at this hotel on our 1st leg of a world trip from 1st to 8th Aug 2006. We were tired after our long flight from Melbourne and the reception service was excellent for weary souls like us just wanting to check in and have a snooze though it was midday LA time! We were so glad we chose Carousel as the staff, service, breakfast, location to Disneyland was simply fantastic. Still have fond memories walking down Harbour Blvd and the rush of excitment and the smiles on my girls faces each time they ventured onto our balcony where we could see the Tower of Terror looming over the skyline! the rooms were airy, the pool on the top floor clean and beautiful views. the room service was fantastic. hotel close to good restaurants, maccas, and other facilities where we were able to book our tours to downtown Hollywood, etc. Would definitely go back and stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: Top floors have good views....

This was our second visit to Anahiem and we stayed in the same area. First visit to the Carousel Inn. Great location, a short walk to Disneyland entrance and to Downtown Disney. The cafes and restraunts located around the carousel were great value at least 1/3 cheaper than downtown disney. Breakfast is included however we never seemed to make it before it was over! We had a room located at the back of the hotel which was really quiet and private. Our room was very roomy we had 2 kids and had a separate room with a second tv. The staff are great and assisted us with transport to get to the mall as well as to the ice hockey. Overall a great place to stay would stay there again.

Room Tip: At the back of the hotel

We stayed at the Carousel Inn in 2009 and thought it was a very nice hotel. The rooms were a little small for a family of five but they were very neat and clean. Great location as it was right across the road from Disneyland. The breakfast was also great as you could sit and look out the large windows that overlook Disneyland. Would definitely stay there again....

Room Tip: Try to stay in the rooms closer to the front of the hotel.

We go to Disneyland once a year and have tired many different hotels in the area. We booked our stay at Carousel because of its location to Disneyland and its low price. We were able to check-in a bit early and actually got a "room upgrade". The room was nothing special, two beds, TV, fridge, bathroom, all the normal stuff. You could hear just about everything outside but we knew this before booking. The only thing that bothered us was the lack of room service. Our room was "cleaned" before we got in on the first day but we never saw anyone after. We were lucky we had enough towels to last us the three days we were there. Overall, if you are looking for location and a safe place to rest for the night this is the place. We looked at booking here again for our next stay but refuse to pay over $100 a night as the rooms are not worth it at that price.
