First impressions mean a lot and when we arrived at the beautiful lobby we were immediately greeted by the staff who were probably the friendliest I've ever encountered. We had a two room suite with two beds - and yes they are true queen size. The room was absolutely spotless with towels perfectly arranged and bed linens crisp and also perfect - I mean the room could've been used as a model for a photo shoot. The bath towels were huge and soft, unlike most hotels. And for those of you who have whined about the water for sale in the room for $5, there were 2 500ml bottles of Sparkletts provided for us by the hotel. Nice.
This hotel is 0.7 mi from the Disneyland gate. We usually stay in one of the Disneyland Resort hotels (prefer the Grand Californian which seems to always be booked full), but this hotel is such a good value that the minor inconvenience of staying offsite was insignificant. Whenever you have a hotel manager respond to complaints on this board, you know you have someone you truly cares about providing the best and it was obvious to us at the hotel that this carries all the way down the ranks.
We saved about $130 a night over the Paradise Pier hotel, got a better room (suite), better towels, better sheets, more compfortable beds (they are really great), 2 TV's, chocolate chip cookies, a true non-smoking, beautifully decorated suite and a staff that Disney should use as an example in their employee training for their hotels. Very highly recommended.
