“Absolutely wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2009

First impressions mean a lot and when we arrived at the beautiful lobby we were immediately greeted by the staff who were probably the friendliest I've ever encountered. We had a two room suite with two beds - and yes they are true queen size. The room was absolutely spotless with towels perfectly arranged and bed linens crisp and also perfect - I mean the room could've been used as a model for a photo shoot. The bath towels were huge and soft, unlike most hotels. And for those of you who have whined about the water for sale in the room for $5, there were 2 500ml bottles of Sparkletts provided for us by the hotel. Nice.

This hotel is 0.7 mi from the Disneyland gate. We usually stay in one of the Disneyland Resort hotels (prefer the Grand Californian which seems to always be booked full), but this hotel is such a good value that the minor inconvenience of staying offsite was insignificant. Whenever you have a hotel manager respond to complaints on this board, you know you have someone you truly cares about providing the best and it was obvious to us at the hotel that this carries all the way down the ranks.

We saved about $130 a night over the Paradise Pier hotel, got a better room (suite), better towels, better sheets, more compfortable beds (they are really great), 2 TV's, chocolate chip cookies, a true non-smoking, beautifully decorated suite and a staff that Disney should use as an example in their employee training for their hotels. Very highly recommended.

WOW...what a nice review and great way to start our day. I read your comments to the staff, and after accusing the housekeeper and I of writing it ourselves, they left feeling a little better about the job they are doing.
Thanks,
Jeff

After researching hotels on this site, I opted for the Doubletree. I was with two teenage girls and needed a suite with a separate bedroom. The room was perfect, overlooking the pool and a view of the fireworks. Had dinner at the bar one night, Salmon over greens, it was excellent! The only down side to the food is the breakfast buffet. Tasteless, but I guess it works for the kids.
The staff was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. It is about 1 mile from Disneyland, we walked and took the bus, worked out fine.
My only complaint is there is no free internet in the rooms and every time I went to the business center it was filled with kids, even thought it specifically says "Over 18 Only".
After staying at other hotels in the area, this is the best one out there, QUIET, clean and hospitable.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for the wonderful rating. I would however like to respond to your two concerns. Unfortunately during the busy summer months, we get a lot of families and it's a challenge to control the usage of the free internet in the Business Center. We recently added two additional computers [bringing the total to five] and hope this will alleviate the problem.
As for the breakfast buffet, I am meeting with the chef this afternoon to discuss your feeling about the food. We try to appeal to all ages by featuring seven hot items, a variety of fresh fruit, juices, yogurt, hot and cold cereal, assorted pastries, bagels, and toast, however as with everything I am sure there is room for improvement and we welcome the challenge.
Respectfully yours,
Jeff Morse

Stayed here for an extended period for work and personal business. Excellent value. With my business rate got free parking and internet. Romm service was very good. The best pizza we had was from room service (better than Pizza Hut and CA Pizza Kitchen. Refrigerator could have kept things a little colder. Nice suite so someone could rest while others watched TV or played cards in the other room. Walking distance to Disney, but we drove every time. Can buy your Disney tickets at the hotel. Pool and hot tub are nice. Gym is adequate. Arcase has 3 video games of which only 2 work. Only 1 worked when we got there but I let them knopw and they fixed one of them. Quiet hotel. Orangewood side has traffic but from 5th floor it was background noise. Lower floors may be noisier. Hotel staff tends to your needs and meets requests. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Doubletree Anaheim. It is about a 30-minute walk from the Disneyland Park entrance. We walked each day up/down Harbor ave. with the kids in a double stroller. This is a safe, easy walk, but just at the limits of what is reasonable for walking in my opinion. The hotel does have shuttle service, but we didn't use it. The hotel has modern restaurants and a Starbucks! The hotel is at the border of the new, remodeled area for Disneyland vacationers (along Harbor Ave), and it was very modern, clean, and quiet. We spent an evening at the hotel pool which was very nice (free towels, shaded sitting areas). Parking was $11/night. We drove to "Downtown Disney" one night for dinner, which was very nice and an easy drive from the hotel. Our room was on the top floor (seventh floor), and the size was reasonable for a family of 4. Both rooms had cable TV, and the kids watched the Disney Channel (of course). Our view was South, so instead of seeing disney, we saw the older sections of Anaheim; nothing exciting. It'd recommend trying to get a room with a North view so you could potentially watch the evening Disneyland fireworks.

We loved this hotel, room and service. I called the care line to ask if anything could be done about the music in a local bar playing across the street (Saturday night). They explained they knew that could be a problem and it may be out of their control, but the hotel called the bar and it did make a difference in the noise level.

Thank you for pointing out the noise coming from a bar across the street. This is the first complaint that I have received since opening the hotel three years ago,but intend to investigate [just walked over but no one is there yet] It's a small, local, nondescript bar thats been there forever. Needless to say we will speak to the owners and or city, to insure that their business does not interfear with ours.
Sorry about that!!!

We stayed here on TripAdvisor user recommendation and we were again pleased with the outcome. Great price for a suite, reasonably close to Disneyland, and really friendly service. A few things were slightly "off" but nothing severe and we would stay there for sure next time. Off things: next door room service dishes sat outside their room for the whole day on the floor, family movies in the room were $14/15, and Agio, the restaurant had one server for the whole restaurant.

Things we loved: nice pool, great service, large rooms, great value, clean, great cookies. :)

I have stayed at the Doubletree twice in the past month. Once for a wedding and another visiting a friend from out of town. Both times we had exceptional service. We were given a cookie at check-in and on our way to the elevator an employee stopped us and gave us more cookies. Every person greeted us with a friendly "Hello and have a nice day". The hotel is very classy, but it was the employees that made me want to come back again.
