We stayed at this hotel as a home base for a Disneyland visit with a toddler. First of all, the location was ideal for this, almost exactly a 1 mile walk to the front gates, or a quick shuttle bus ride right outside the hotel.
The lobby is spacious, clean & welcoming, and the free cookies at check-in were a huge hit with the little one. We had a 1 bedroom suite which had a ton of space and was ideal for having the little one sleep in a separate room from us. DoubleTree even provided the crib, so one less thing for us to pack and travel with. The rooms were clean, comfortable and did I mention roomy? A very nice place to come back to after joining the crowds at Disneyland.
We took advantage of the outdoor pool area which has a large deck with chairs, but a pretty small pool & hottub. Still a nice treat for a Canadian family in winter. The restaurant (Agio) was decent, very accommodating to our toddler (free kids meals), with a generous breakfast buffet. Also, there's a Disney 'Welcome Center' on site, so if you haven't planned all that craziness beforehand, you can get all the info & tickets you need here.
Be prepared for a couple of extra costs at check-out. There is a 'resort fee' (why not just incorporate this into room rates?) and you have to pay for parking.
Overall though, this was a really nice hotel for a Disneyland vacation.
