“Excellence on a Budget”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

My husband and I frequently travel to Southern California in search of a small getaway. Normally we go simply to visit friends and Disneyland but we've decided to always stay with the Lemon Tree. We've now stayed three separate times and each was unique but exceptional.

The most recent stay was in October 2012. We arrived far later then we'd anticipated due to traffic and were exhausted. The front desk girl was extremely nice and seeing how we'd had to wait for nearly 30 minutes while she checked in other late arrivals. Unfortunately, due to several conferences in the area happening all at once, our original room type was not available and we were thus upgraded free of charge to a one bedroom apartment style room near the front desk. It was perfect, clean, spacious and welcome.

I mention this because that is the most current of our stays at this location and all of them have been wonderful. The staff has been excessively friendly and pleasant and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice and quiet hotel to relax in.

Room Tip: Be kind to the front desk clerks - they are very helpful so long as you treat them with respect as w...

“After Many Positive Stays, Bed Bugs.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

I've stayed in this hotel several times and it's always been serviceable. Unfortunately, this week I got a room with a bed bug infestation. I made the hotel staff aware and they moved me to another part of the hotel that was bug free. Because of this, however, I still won't be returning.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are aware of this incident and have shut down the room until our pest control has it cleared for service. Unfortunately our industry is suseptible to fleas, bugs and other infestations that guests occasionally bring in but we do have very strict procedures in place to deal with such incidences. This is not a common occurance for us.

Thank you for your review. Please contact us so that we can identify your stay. We have just upgraded all our WIFI service and are surprised that you had trouble. We would also like to identify the associate that appears to not have provided you with the excellent level of service that we are usually acknowledged for.

“Love the hotel but could be better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

This is the only place I stay at when I am in Orange County but I am looking else where. I love the decor, quietness, and the wonderful staff. I travel with my two daughters who are 3 and 2. We usually arrive in the evening and there is not a lot of parking and the lighting is not sufficient enough for the parking lot. I have to park in the front and my room is usually in the back on the top floor(which is really steep for kids. I have requested for the bottom floor but still was given a room on the top). I have to carry our bags and keep an eye on my daughters to make sure we get there safe. The main reason why I will not return back is the issues I have with the room doors. The handles are really low and my girls can open them easily. There is no top latch/lock to secure the door. I have to wait for them to fall asleep before I can take a shower. I usually barricade the door with chair, tables, or whatever I can find to put in front of it so they cant get to the door. I also sleep on edge in fear I will not hear them wake up and they will be outside.

Thank you for your review. We have been upgrading our rear parking lot so we apologize for the limited parking over the past week. All rooms are fitted with standard hotel key card entry locks and deadbolts. We understand your concern about there being no latch higher but this has appeared to be an issue. We will monitor this issue though and look into the lighting.

“good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

We picked this hotel based on its proximity to Disneyland. The staff was very nice, but the breakfast was pathetic. Think individually wrapped pastries and instant coffee, we ended up eating at a nearby coffee shop. The rooms were clean and rather unique Spanish style, which was a nice break from the typical hotel. We had a little kitchen with fridge, freezer, small oven, stove, microwave, etc.

Room Tip: if you need a hair dryer, they are kept a the front desk so get one when you check in.

Thank you for your review and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. Unfortunately we can only serve a limited breakfast until the city issue us with a new permit which has caused us to have to make some changes to our kitchen. We should be good to go within a few weeks.
