“Steakhouse 55-- One of Disney's best kept secrets!”

I didn’t think that this place would live up to its reputation on Trip Advisor because it’s a hotel restaurant and it’s Disney owned. I thought it would lack the sophistication most steak houses are known for. Even walking up to the restaurant I had my doubts. The restaurant is hidden in the back of the Disneyland Hotel. Compared to the hustle and bustle of the rest of the Disney Resort areas, this place was a ghost town.

It turns out, Steakhouse 55 is everything that others have said it is and definitely worthy of the Trip Advisor five star rating. The décor is classic American steakhouse with a few modern flourishes. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious. The prices are reasonable, a three course prix fix for $30! The prix fix comes with a delicious Cesar salad. The petite New York is a nice size and tasty. It’s served with scrumptious mashed potatoes—no gravy needed! And for dessert, a fresh fruit tart that’s big enough to share. Although, I have to say that the fruit tart was only okay when compared with everything else which was so good. Even the bread and drinks (cocktails and wine) were terrific! My husband ordered the prime rib and a side of spinach and declared it, “the best spinach I’ve ever had!”

And let’s not forget the service-- outstanding! Our waiter, David from Glendale was polite, friendly, and attentive. We were there on a Friday night and were able to have a leisurely dinner. Oh, and when I asked where the restrooms were, David walked me to them (they’re outside the restaurant, in the hotel) so that I wouldn’t get lost. Now that’s service!

I'd recommend this place to anybody from, locals looking for a nice steak dinner to tourists who want a change from the usual Disney fare.

This resturant is now called Steakhouse 55.

The best Steakhouse on a Disney Property anywhere!

The best breakfast at the Disneyland Resort.

Disney Trivia: Many of the breakfast waitstaff have been with the resort for years and you may recognize some of them from the old Monorail Cafe!

I've lived locally for 30 years and have never had the opportunity to try this place out. My brother was coming to town from Texas for the USC game on Sept. 16th and always likes to take our family out to a nice dinner. Last time it was the Napa Rose and we decided to go with a steakhouse this time.

Called for reservations mid week and was able to secure a 7:30pm slot on Friday night for 4 people. On the way in there was a very long line of cars trying to turn left onto Disneyland Drive. We feared that parking would be crunched in and around Downtown Disney and the DL hotel because of the upcoming Half Marathon. Finally arrived and surprise...plenty of parking.

Checked in at 7:15pm with the maitre'd who told us to wait in the newly refurbished bar just outside the restaurant and next to Goofy's Kitchen. There are about 6-8 small tables and a few couches which seemed a little unwieldly to sit straight up on. Ordered a couple glasses of wine while we waited. Less than 5 minute later our table was ready.

Place was busy but not packed for a Friday night. We got a corner table which is good for my mother who has hearing aids and feels better next to a wall. Lots of interesting and historical pictures of a bygone celebrity era adorning the walls.

Waiter was extremely attentive all night and came back to replenish our glasses with a $100+ bottle of cabernet sauvignon my brother ordered. It was from 1991 I believe but don't recall which Northern California winery it came from.

We ordered popcorn rock shrimp in an aioli sauce and the ahi for appetizers. Both were very tasty and the shrimp were piping hot upon arrival. Main entrees arrived about 20 minutes later.

For dinner Dad ordered a rare Filet Mignon with mashed potatoes, Mom also got a Filet Mignon with mashed potatoes, brother got a Porterhouse, and I got Prime Rib which was marbled evenly and just melted in your mouth. Everyone was happy with everything except the mashed potatoes which got just "average" marks. I did some sauteed mushrooms in a wine sauce reduction which I didn't care too much for either.

For dessert brother got the fruit plate and Mom and Dad had the Grand Marnier Souflee which they rated as "just OK." I was too full and passed because nothing really appealed to me.

I will definitely return here in the future on a date or family outing. Total amount per person out the door was about $50.

I took my girlfriend here for valentines day. Its located in the convention center so I was a little nervous, but once you're inside its a totally classy experience. They are child friendly but there were no crying babies and the food was wonderful. The wine selection is great and our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend this restraunt to anyone.
