“A Fantastic Experience at the Candy Cane Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2006

Our family of four (children 5 and 8) spent 10 nights at the Candy Cane (after alot of online research) during a peak part of the summer season and the experience exceeded our expectations on every level. We drove all the way from Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada) with the main part of our vacation being at Disneyland and we were so thrilled upon arrival that the Candy Cane lived up to all its great reviews. The Staff was outstanding and everything connected to the hotel, the rooms, the service, the food, the pool, the grounds, and the shuttle was above average. We had a premium room which is definitely worth the slightly higher charge as having breakfast delivered to the room makes getting to Disneyland early even easier. We love Disneyland and want to go back this year and I wouldn't stay anywhere else other than the Candy Cane Inn. Keep up the great work Candy Cane Inn - this kind of quality service is hard to come by!

We usually use Priceline and stay at a variety of places, at great rates, but this time we had an extra family member so we had to make a direct reservation with a hotel. We researched like crazy and noticed that we read nothing but great comments about the Candy Cane. I can honestly and without reservation say that the Candy Cane Inn is the absolute best value near Disneyland. I have never stayed in a cleaner, better maintained hotel. The place is small, quiet, quaint and beautiful. The staff were top notch. One of our kids threw up in their bed in the middle of the night and staff were at our door within 5 minutes with completely new linens. We needed help with transportation to the train station and when I asked for advice, Nick at the front desk took over and just arranged it for me. The shuttle ran perfectly on time and the drivers along with all of the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and professional. This place is a gem and I'd recommend it over any of the larger hotels that are typically considered more luxurious. Stay at the Candy Cane and you will not be disappointed...guaranteed.

The excitement of our 8 yr. old granddaughter visiting Disneyland for the first time last Nov. was overwhelming and our arrival at Candy Cane Inn exceeded our expectations. Not only were we next door to Disneyland Park, our accommodations were quality and the staff went out of their way to see that our granddaughter's dreams began at their hotel. The turn-down service included Disney character candies on the pillow. A menu with easy to follow directions for room delivery of breakfast was on the table and the selection was great. It saved us time and money. Shuttle service to and from the park was convenient and frequent.

The general manager, Jeff Holl, was very attentive and paid attention to every detail. We highly recommend staying at Candy Cane and look forward to another visit soon.

Thank you for the kind comments regarding your accommodations and services you received during your recent stay. It is always heart warming to hear about a young persons first trip to the "Happiest Place on Earth". I am pleased that it was most enjoyable and you were able to spend this quality time with your granddaughter. This will certinly hold a special place in her heart and we are delighted to be a part of it.

Our family of 4 just returned from an 11-night stay at the Candy Cane Inn during the height of Disney's busy season. We used the reviews here to help make our decision and were not disappointed. Check-in and check-out were handled easily, all of the staff (front desk, food services, pool, maintenance, cleaning and grounds personnel, housekeepers and shuttle drivers) were competent and friendly. The room and motel property as a whole were kept immaculate. The lush plants everywhere and the cobblestone parking areas, etc. take away the "concrete jungle" effect once you step onto the property from the street.
The contintental breakfast was well-replenished and very fresh every morning. With a large assortment of bread, danishes, croissants, bagels, muffins, donuts, spreads (cream cheeses, jams, honey, etc), cold cereals, hot cereal packets, fresh fruit (oranges, bananas, apples), fruit juices and hot drinks, we were able to eat a good breakfast every morning and not tire of it. There are not enough tables to handle everyone, but there is a tray in each room and breakfast can be brought back to the room.
The room was comfortable, clean and very quiet. At no time did we hear street noise or our neighbors beside or below us. The room had a small fridge which we made use of. It was turned on and cold upon arrival. We sometimes returned to the motel for an early/mid afternoon swim and always returned to a clean room. We left a small tip each day for the person who cleaned the room and would often find a little thank-you note when we returned. The coffee maker in the room did not work (this was not a big deal to us), though we did mention it on our way to the park, and a brand new one had been placed in our room by the time we returned.
Due to the very busy season, parking was at a premium. We always found a place for our rental car, though not always near the room.
We did laundry once. The washers and dryers were large in size and cost was $1 per load and $1 for soap if you didn't bring your own.
We easily walked to and from Disney, though the private shuttle was wonderful for tired legs and ran like clockwork.
We booked directly with the motel and paid $92/night with AMA (AAA)...you have to show your card at the desk. All in all, we were very impressed and would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for 3 nights based on the reviews of others - they were right! I will always stay here from now on. It is very clean - my number one "look for" in a place to stay. The people were friendly, the place was spotless, the breakfast was much better than the other Anaheim hotels we have stayed in. Breakfast choices included: 3 different cold cereals, instant oatmeal, a variety of bagels (toaster available), bread for toast, muffins, pastries, and donuts, 3 flavors of cream cheese, bananas, apples, oranges, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, apple and orange juice. MUCH better than the stale pastry and weak coffee you will get at other places.

We timed the walk at 12 minutes to Disneyland. Our room was in the very back corner of the motel, so next time I would ask for a room closer to the front. I logged over 20,000 steps on my pedometer each day at Disneyland! We went for the little larger room and it was perfect for our family of four. The place looks exactly like the pictures on their website at ----

There is a AAA discount for the rooms, so ask. The shuttle is great but the walk is not bad at all if you miss the shuttle. There is an ABC (like a 7-11) right next door that has everything you might have forgotten to bring with you. You will love this place!

This hotel is well worth staying at if you are planning on attending Disneyland and California Adventure. It is located just beyond California Adventure. Very clean and beautiful flowers create a wonderful landscape. Breakfast each day is well supplied (donuts, muffins, bagels, bread/toast, cold and hot cereal, fruit, juices, coffee, tea, hot chocolate). The hotel provides a courtesy shuttle (running every half hour) to and from Disneyland/California Adventure. We found it very easy to pop back to the hotel throughout the day using the hotel's shuttle service. The rates are very reasonable. When searching for the right hotel I used TripAdvisor.com and was not disappointed with any of my selections (we also stayed in San Diego and LA). This hotel, without question, is highly recommended and will guarantee you a wonderful stay while at Disneyland/California Adventure!

We selected the Candy Cane Inn based on Trip Advisor reviews and we weren't disappointed. It was close to all amenities we needed and to the Disney parks. It was clean, beds were comfortable, very quiet, grounds were immaculate and beautiful, breakfast was just what we needed (having the fresh fruit every day was a bonus), staff was helpful and courteous, reasonable rates, and we could watch Disney fireworks from the outside walkway just in front of our 2nd floor room. Disney shuttle runs every half hour. We would definitely stay here again!
