“Enhanced our visit to Disney!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

Spent 6 nights at the Candy Cane to finish our Californian 28 day road trip. Check in by Alexandra was very friendly and efficient. All staff we met were very friendly. We had a room on the second floor overlooking the pool. Although the room was smaller than those we stayed in elsewhere in California, it did the job perfectly - beds were comfortable after a long day in Disney, safe, good sized fridge and separate sink to toilet/bathroom. Rooms and grounds are very clean - the grounds are very attractive and impeccably maintained. Complimentary breakfast offers a good range - pastries, toast, fruit, yoghurts, eggs, etc, You may take this to your room or, do as we did, and eat at one of the tables beside the pool - this made for a calm and relaxing start to each day. The hotel is adjacent to Disney's California Adventure - the back of the Radiator Springs rides backs onto the hotel. Even though it is this close to the park, the hotel is very quiet. 10 minute walk to the park gates or you can take the complimentary shuttle bus which runs every 30 minutes - we rode on this three times and each time there was lots of spaces on the bus and drivers were very friendly. On checking out we were allowed to leave our car parked at the hotel until the afternoon when we left for the airport. Unlike some of the hotels close to Disney, there is no charge for parking. Candy Cane Inn thoroughly enhanced our visit to Disney. We would love to return to Anaheim in the future and would not consider staying anywhere else than Candy Cane.

Room Tip: Second floor overlooking pool gives views of Disney fireworks. Very quiet.

The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the entrance to the Disneyland parks, so its location should already be enough reason to stay here. But there is more. The hotel is simple, clean, no frills, but compared to the Disneyland hotels it's a steal! We took a premium room, as it ensured us a quiet stay. With that, we received a welcome-basket and had the advantage of ordering an in-room breakfast basket (of your choice). The room was a bit outdated, but adequate and as you can expect, the breakfast was not premium quality. Hotel-staff was friendly and efficient. An excellent choice if you want to spend your money in the parks rather than on your hotel.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a premium room

My wife, twin 11 year old sons, and I spent four nights at the Candy Cane Inn June 25 - 29. The motel is in an excellent location, literally backing up to California Adventure and an easy 10 minute walk to the parks. Upon arrival, we were struck by the beautiful hanging baskets and landscaping all around the property. We rented a deluxe room with two double beds, which was supposed to be bigger than a standard size room. Although the room was quite small, it was decorated nicely, was very clean and was apparent that it had been updated in recent years. A continental breakfast was included in the room rate and included pastries, bagels, yogurt, fresh fruit, cheese cubes, coffee and juice. We went down for breakfast when it was first served and enjoyed eating peacefully by the pool. Afterward, we took the shuttle bus provided by the motel to the parks each day. The buses run literally every half hour and the drivers were all very courteous and friendly. The property has a laundry room with four washers and four dryers. I just say that it was the cleanest laundry room I'd ever seen. The only negative aspect that stands out in my mind was that the parking spaces were very narrow which wasn't that much of a problem. We were very pleased with our stay at this motel and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Disneyland.

Sitting by the pool as I write this on our last night at Disneyland. This hotel is fabulous. The rooms are very clean. The beds comfortable. Any needs are met promptly. The pools are great after a day at Disney or just to beat the heat in the afternoon. The grounds are beautiful. This is our 4th trip to Disney in the last 3 years and I would definitely return to this resort.

I enjoy the Candy Cane...having stayed at a number of properties in the area. It is an easy walk to the main gate and, if you're exhausted at the end of a day of fun, their shuttles run every 30 minutes (though at busy times theyre small and will be full). The rooms are simple, but nice and clean. I think they are comparable to the rooms at Paradise Pier...and actually closer to the gates, though not to Downtown Disney. All in all...a winner.

We have returned to this hotel after 5 years and it is still amazing. We spent eleven nights on this occasion and every night their fantastic beds enables you to have a superb nights sleep. On entering the reception area the staff is so welcoming and you feel part of this family owned hotel. My request for a certain room is always met, the rooms are so clean and have all the amenities to make you feel right at home. The swimming pool area is so relaxing and creates a calming atmosphere when eating the continental breakfast which is most excellent. The walk into Disney from the hotel is charming, especially at night when the trees are all lit up by twinkling lights. But if you feel too tired to walk you can always catch the complementary bus that always runs on time and the bus drivers will always wait for you and help you if need be. I stayed for many years in Anaheim in the past and this hotel is the best and nothing in the area can match up to this excellent hotel.
I would like to mention a big thank you to James and Kim for making us so welcome and they are both an asset to this hotel. Also Robert the manager was always so helpful and a pleasure to talk to if you have any concerns.
Thank you Candy Cane Inn for such a brilliant holiday and see you next year.

Inn was nice and cozy. Great shuttle that took us back and forth to Disney. Breakfast was good too. Only complaint was upon arriving, our toilet was broken and we were not able to use it until the next morning. Rooms were outdated with but clean....
