“Awfully place to stay”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012 via mobile

This was a terrible hotel to stay. I booked in advance and received a room at the very back. Room was not very clean and very small. Bath towels felt more like bath mats they were so rough. They charge for everything including parking but where our room was all the parking was taken and we had to park quite far from our room. The weekend we were there we couldn't use the hot tub or swimming pool as it was used by a private function. We were told that parking and wifi was free but they charge $14 a night for parking and $10 a night for wifi. Most hotel I have stayed at the wifi is free. They had some undesirable customers staying at he hotel. I would not stay there again.

Well thank you very much for posting a review on your recent stay however I am sorry that you felt so negatively about your stay. Our Venus bathtowels and mats have been highly rated amongst Eco Friendly linens as our awreness to the envirnonment is very important to us. We chose our $14 parking rate to be below the competition in the Anaheim Resort Area for optimal value to our guests. In regards to the WIFI charge we are working diligentlly to provide this service through the hotel so we may monitor the cost associated to provide this service. We truly strive to provide an exceptional overall value and amazing experience for our guests.

Overall positive experience. Go in with expectation of 3 star motel and you will be happy. Great location to parks, 5-10 min walk, cut through Grand Californian. Parked in front of our room. Nice big suites with hardwood floors and sep. bedroom for kid with daybed and mini fridge. Paper thin walls, go upper floor ask for quiet room. Nice pool area with drink service. Had to have room re-cleaned at check in. Pays to tip maids as always.

The Anabella was a wonderful hotel to stay at while visiting the Disney Anaheim parks. Our ground floor unit had wonderful wood flooring, granite in the bathroom, and very comfortable beds and linens.

Their location is also ideal. They are located right across the street from the south side of the Disney complex. Although it still required a 10-15 minute walk to get to the entrance, compared to other hotels in the area, this was one of the closest.

The hotel's restaurant, Tangerine, was lovely. We started each day with breakfast. Not only does the restaurant have a sit-down menu, but they also have a grab-and-go menu. On the one day we ventured to Legoland, we grabbed food to go to eat in the car. The very large breakfast sandwich and potatoes were quite filling. At $5.95, it was also one of the best deals around.

The staff at the Anabella was also very friendly and willing to please. I rarely give any review 5 stars, but the Anabella exceeded my expectations.

Room Tip: The ground floor units are great, as you park just a few feet from your front door.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review online regarding your stay. We here at the Anabella Hotel and Resort try very hard to provide the best possible product and service possible. We are currently in the process of upgrading all of our rooms but due to the high occupancy this is made very difficult but we do our very best to improve all the rooms as well as our service. Thanks again for you kind comments

I reviewed this hotel and many others on line before booking and was a little hesitant as there were some very diverse comments. Booked it as part of a a package and took the chance. Service at check in was quick and pleasant, concierge was very helpful over our 5 night stay! We had a Casita suite that had been renovated but definitely not high quality - peeling wallpaper, a bit grubby, very slow draining tub - but what does one really expect for a 3 star hotel? Air conditioners are very noisy and I recommend earplugs all the way around! A basic breakfast was included in our our package which consisted of (we think) 2 eggs, 2 slices bacon, potatoes, toast and coffee or tea. It was very inconsistent as to what we really got each day, service was very disorganized and pretty slow. There were many staff in the restaurant and nobody seemed to be doing anything. We had to ask for cream for the coffee 5 times on our first morning. Not sure why the lack of service with all the staff that was there.
The location was excellent in our minds as all you have to do is head down the street and cut through the Grand Californian and you are minutes from Disneyland gates.
The best thing of all is that the beds were so comfortable that we didn't want to get up!!

Our family and friends have been coming here for the past 10 years. When we first stayed here we love it! The past couple of years have been hit or missed with this last trip this past weekend a complete let down. The room was ok but clearly beat down. The pool was close on Sunday from 11-6 for a private party. Who closes a hotel pool on a Sunday? We have kids and were disappointed they couldn't hang out and swim before heading back to the park for round 2. The topper was waking up early Saturday morning only to be greeted by a huge bug on the floor! I wont mention what type it was but it was enough that my wife wanted to leave and go somewhere else for the rest of the trip. Now, to be fair the location is great, the service has been good. I mention the bug thing to the front desk and it was like nothing had happen. Not even a call from the hotel manager. I didnt expect anything from the hotel other than a call from a manager. Not the customer service I expected. Its been good for the bost part but its time to move on - specially the value for the money it is just not there anymore...sad.

Location was good about a 15 min walk from the Disney Park gates. Room clean a little on the small side but OK for a short stay. Our ground floor room down the end, while shaded was noisy at night with the sound of air cons., bouncing off the walls and people coming down the stairs. Great to have a laundry facility and pool area was good. Good food options nearby including a 7/11, would recommend for a no fuss short stay.

Room Tip: Noisy at the end in the 'court area', try to avoid a room near stairs

We have stayed here several times over many years because of the location but this year we adopted a rescue dog and they don't accept dogs (yes many web sites still say they accept them but they do not) so we have been staying elsewhere.

Stayed for 3 nights in a Casita Suite. Check in was fast even with trainee. Got to room and it was not right. Old slat blinds that did not close all the way. TV in armoir on same wall with door so you could not see it from the bed. We called and they sent maintenance guy. He put painters tape on the gaps around the blinds and angled TV in armoir said nothing else could be done and left. We turned on TV and could maybe see 1/4 of it from the bed. Even though they said they did not have another room over the phone we went back to front desk and asked for another room anyway. They sent us with bellman to look at 2 other Casita Suites. First one was the set up that we remembered with the loveseat at the foot of the bed and the TV on top of console facing the bed. It also had the shutters The 2nd room was occupied with the guests sleeping, OOPS! So we took the 1st room. We moved our stuff and went to dinner.

This room still had carpet. I found an M&M from previous guest on floor and the corners could use a good vacuum. Bed was comfortable. AC worked but is loud as right next to bed. Alarm clock had seen better days and took 2 nights to figure out how to work it right. Coffee pot on its last legs and took forever to brew. Shower drained slowly. Our rate included parking but it can be difficult to find a spot near your room when they are at high occupancy. We had a phone that looked like a wall phone (with no speed dails) that was put on the bedside table. No pen or paper.

Tangerine has been a problem for ages, but we had a coupon that was in the room for a free shortstack of pancakes and bacon with a breakfast purchase so we tried it again. Bad move. Service was slooooow. Eggs benedict coldish on untoasted muffin with way too much lumpy-ish sauce. Bacon was off tasting, one bite was enough. Check was not correct. Lots of people dressed up that looked like managers running around but I did not see them interact with any of the guests. Just go to Coco's across the street as they do breakfast right. We ate at Coco's 5 times over 3 days (they are open late and are on the walking route to the park) and had no problems and the food was good.

Other issues. Guests hanging laundry from railings both days. Room service trays that would sit outside all day. Kids running on the upper walkways and housekeeping and maintenance staff that would not stop them.

We will return when we don't have the dog with us, but quite frankly I can't understand why they don't accept them as my dog is better behaved than many of the kids and other guests I encountered at the property this trip, and even the new rooms we have been in or seen are not all that and a bag of chips.

Room Tip: Do not accept what they tell you on the phone if you do not like your room. Don't touch anything...
