“Easy and comfy for Disney”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2012

We took a suite so our child had his own area with tv and for sleeping. We were ground floor, it was quiet and comfortable.

“Good stay for the price, with some minor issues...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2012

We frequently do overnight trips to Disneyland and we rented two rooms here for the first time with the idea of walking to and from the park. For our purposes, it was fine, but the hotel does have some minor issues. I say minor because they didn't bother us that much and didn't really affect our stay. Having said that, we did spend most of our time at the parks.

Check-in was easy in a nicely decorated lobby and a room was ready shortly before the actual check-in time. The biggest issue that we saw was that this hotel is simply older and hasn't been completely updated. The wallpaper is starting to peel in some places, some of the bathroom tiles are stained, lamp shade was cracked, one of the tv's was quite old and there is a wall AC unit. The AC clicked a few time every time it came on and it ran rather loud. If you need to use it, and you're a light sleeper, this will probably disturb you and you most likely will not get a great night's sleep. The stick used to twist and close the blinds was missing, we called the front desk and they quickly replaced it. In the second room we had, the window would not lock for some reason, after a call they promptly fixed it.

We had what they called a Deluxe Casita Suite (it was a standard room) on the 2nd floor for $72 per night ($106 total after tax, parking etc.). The size of the room was ok, it basically slept 4, but it had one Queen, one daybed and one twin size pull out sofa. The daybed was in a small separate room with a door, a chair and a flat screen tv. This was actually great, because the kids could sleep in there and watch tv or play video games with the door closed if need be. Some reviewers mentioned that the tv remotes didn't work... ours didn't either at first, until I realized that someone had switched the main one with the one in the bedroom. After switching them back they worked fine. The rooms included a mini fridge and a small safe which we always use. The walk to the park was not bad at all... if you're going to Disneyland, cut through Downtown Disney and take the monorail which lets you off inside the park. If your going to California Adventure, walk through Downtown Disney or cut through The Grand Californian.

We didn't eat at the restaurant or use the pool or gym but they looked ok. I think the room maids could do a better job of quality control with spotting and fixing minor issues (like the blinds/ remotes not working) before saying the room is ready, but all of the staff that we encountered was friendly and helpful. This hotel is not perfect and is a little worn from age, however the staff is good and they seem to try very hard. We would definitely stay here again mostly because of the proximity and the price. The issues were minor to us because they were taken care of quickly and didn't really affect our stay. If you spend most of your time at the parks, these types of things probably won't bother you either. If you're looking for perfection in luxury, this is not it. If you're looking for a clean and decent place to stay, close to the parks at a very good price, the Anabella is a good option. My overall rating is slightly above average.

“They still are in violation of the ADA”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2012

Same as other guest, when asking about Service Animals, was told to have proper identification to prove its a service animal, this Hotel must never have read the Department of Justice guidelines, it Cleary states. this is a direct wording from the USDOJ web site

. Q: How can I tell if an animal is really a service animal and not just a pet?

A: Some, but not all, service animals wear special collars and harnesses. Some, but not all, are licensed or certified and have identification papers. If you are not certain that an animal is a service animal, you may ask the person who has the animal if it is a service animal required because of a disability. However, an individual who is going to a restaurant or theater is not likely to be carrying documentation of his or her medical condition or disability. Therefore, such documentation generally may not be required as a condition for providing service to an individual accompanied by a service animal. Although a number of states have programs to certify service animals, you may not insist on proof of state certification before permitting the service animal to accompany the person with a disability.

Get a clue Anabella, Once myself or another disabled person tells you, they have a service animal, the conversation is over, period. perhaps we need to bring a federal compliance complaint against this hotel. My Society stayed at the Hilton Instead, and had absolutely no problem, and no questions.

“Close, Cozy & Clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2012

Loved this hotel for the fact that you are across the street from the back side of "California Adventure". The location is perfect for a short walk to Downtown Disney and the Parks. The 3 Disney resort hotels are extremely close should you want to go to a "Character Breakfast" or eat at one of their fun themed restaurants. The rooms are very comfy and exceptionally clean. This is not a high rise, so their property is spread out and you are able to park near your room. The Tangerine Restaurant on property is located by the pool and has decently priced menu options. There are also two coffee shops, ( 1 being Coco's), adjacent to the property. Great place to stay for the closeness to Disney without the high Disney Resort prices.

“Nice room!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2012

We loved the Deluxe Casitas Suite. Plenty of room with a queen bed and a sofabed. A second TV for my daughter to watch Disney channel in "her room" was a big plus. Looking forward to staying here again when we have time to enjoy the pool and restaurant.

Room Tip: Our room was up the stairs, perfectly fine for us. If stairs are an issue with someone in your trave...
