I can't say enough about the excellent service at this hotel. We decided to splurge at the last minute and stay overnight at the hotel to celebrate a birthday and I don't regret it. The staff was friendly, professional, and very helpful. In fact, we decided to enjoy the hotel and downtown Disney the first night and go to Disneyland the following morning and it worked out perfectly. Of course in the real world this hotel is way to expensive for the average size room you get, but this is Disneyland, so they know we are willing to overpay for everything.
Of course the multi-story lobby is very beautiful (but it is a Disney version of an old grand hotel so don't look too closely) and I liked the overall impression of all the mission style design details from the beautiful lamps, mission rockers in front of the fireplace, to the tile design on the elevator floor - and I didn't notice Mickey anywhere. And to be honest, it was nice to feel you were in a hotel that was kid friendly but was built to please an adult audience (how much Disney sweetness can a person take?). But what surprised me most was the kids (ages 9 & 13) loved it! They said it was the nicest hotel they'd ever seen, so I'm glad we decided to stay here. The service was great, the location perfect, and yes, yes, it's too expensive, but isn't everything at Disneyland?
