“When the locals recommend it, you know it's going to be good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013 via mobile

Arrived at Cortina's while out in Anaheim visiting customers. We had stopped at a grocery store and asked one of the employees there for a recommendation for lunch. Without hesitation, more than one of them chimed in and said that although it was a few minutes drive, it was well worth the time... And they were right.

The place is a local Diner style italian joint, with an italian deli-market on one side and a restaurant on the other. The restaurant menu is basic but everything we ordered was very well prepared, fresh and using quality ingredients. Even when you don't get table service, you still get the feeling that you are very dilligently taken care off.

Portion size is significantly large (borderline ridiculous - Lasagna must be no less than 1.25 lbs...) and plates come out of the kitchen pretty quick. Prosciutto sandwich was top notch and so was the meatball plate. Wish I would have tried the pizza too, but was too full to continue eating.

If I had to say one thing thart could be improved, I guess that would be the plates and silverware -or should I say plasticware?

Other than that, this place rocks and at a very reasonable price.

“Cortina's, The land of Sandwiches*Pastas*Salads*”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

The Oringnal Cortina's was established in 1963 in Anaheim California. This past year the Cortina Family opened a much smaller restaurant in Orange California. It is by far the best sandwich, homemade paste or salad you will eat in Central Orange county. There is a Patio for oudoor dining and a few tables festively decorated inside where you place your order. It does not have a pizza oven like it's big brother but you wo'nt be sorry you stopped by to order off the Orange Menu. It is only open from 10A.M.-3 P.M. Monday through Friday so you get the idea...A perfect place to stop for lunch. I can't wait to go back!!

“Incredible place with great street cred!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

I am a foodie. With that being said there are a number of areas in which a restraint is judged by.
Ambiance, service, location, and most importantly.....THE FOOD!
Cortinas has been around for a while. It is a family owned and operated place. The sons have taken over the family restaurant and deli and they pour their heart and soul into the place and it shows! The place has a feel I home to it, a large number of patrons have been going there for years and know each other (which speaks volumes). They buy fresh and authentic Italian meats and cheeses and all sorts of great Italian stuff can be purchased at the deli. They do not skimp on quality! The place just has darn good food at a great value!
In short...... In this economy it sucks to spend my hard earned money just to disappointed, but at Cortina's the Didodo family goes all out to always make it a great experience!

“Great food, great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

One of the things I like about a great taqueria is that you can get great value. It's the food, after all, that makes a great restaurant for me. With all due respect to my Italian heritage, if I may compare a taqueria to an Italian deli for quality of food and simplicity, then the comparison is apt. At Cortina's, you taste great food ... it is fresh and well prepared. The atmosphere is that of a casual dining Italian restaurant, but it is the food that really shines. And, should you get to the restaurant without taste buds working, then take a stroll through the Italian market next door, for, if that doesn't awaken your palette, then save some time and money and eat a cracker and drink water. The market has all those incredible aromas you expect from great Italian ingredients (great little bakery, too ... so save room after the sandwich or pizza or salad or whatever, for you won't be disappointed.)

I love a good burger at In-N-Out and have eaten many of them, but even though it is across the street, when I am in the neighborhood, I wouldn't choose "Quality you can taste" for Cortina's any day of the week.
