“Great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

We were relieved to get to the hotel after travelling for nearly 24 hours. The check-in was quick and efficient. We were giving two keys to our room #1747 situated on the 17th floor.

We were rather pleased with the room, which by our european standards was very spacious. We had a big bed which was very comfortable. Decent sized bathroom with a tub + shower head. We appreciated the beautifully scented bathroom amenities.

A few things did bother us, such as the expensive wifi. It was $12.50 a day if I remember correctly. Perhaps are we too accustomed to hotels with free wifi.
The walls in our room were thin. It didn't interfere with our first night's sleep because we were exhausted and slept through the noise. But on the second night, we found it hard to fall asleep. The hotel was filled with sororities/fraternities who seemed to enjoy being loud and obnoxious. Not really the hotel's fault though.
I should mention that the room was a little dated. But the room was neat and clean, and we were only there in the evenings!

The hotel is VERY big, as it serves as a convention center. It has a heated pool and a jacuzzi. It has many shops, restaurants and cafés. It has water fountains where you can have a drink or fill up your bottles for the day. We had breakfast at the Café del sol. The waiting service was friendly and discreet. The food was nice, well presented and reasonably priced.

The major bonus was definitely the price. We wanted a nice hotel that was within walking distance of the Disney Parks. But without the expensive price tag of a Disney hotel. The two nights cost a little under €145 (breakfast not included),which is an absolute bargain.

For the short time that we were at the hotel, we mostly enjoyed it. Its a 20 mins walk to the Disney Park, which is very convenient. The hotel does offer free shuttle rides to and from the parks, but as expected the queues are long.

We stayed 2 nights on 27th and 28th december 2012

The rooms are clean, very comfortable beds, staff are excellent and very friendly.
The hotel is about 2 blocks from Disneyland, we walked back it was about 20 -30mins. There is the convention centre and Hilton next door. There is a bar and several eating areas, the food at the bar area was very good as was breakfast at Cafe Del Sol, service was excellent. We were there New Years eve and the security was very good, there was no noise on our floor at all.

We were attending a convention at this hotel, so the decision of where to stay wasn't up to us, which is why we were so pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel and service. We usually get a small suite, since we are there for 6 nights, but apparently the hotel does not have an abundance of suites and they were all booked. The room was nice and comfortable and since we were on the concierge level, they lounge provided the extra space we needed. We highly recommend requesting the concierge level, which includes a free breakfast buffet and water and soft drinks throughout the day and appetizers during happy hour. The amenities of the Starbucks and Pizza Hut were a big hit with our conference attendees. We ate several meals in the Cafe del Sol or the bar. The food was very good and well above average for hotel restaurants. The few times we needed assistance with the staff, we were attended to quickly and professionally.

I stayed here on business. This hotel was immaculately clean and the service was impeccable. We had packages delivered to the hotel and the bell hop even carted them to the doors of the convention center for us which was completely above and beyond the call of duty. Every staff member we encountered was just as considerate, patient, and helpful. Attitude counts when you're running on fumes during an exhausting business trip. Really enjoyed the pool and hot tub too!

I do not generally start a review with a negative comment, but the housekeeping staff at this property is inconsistent and needs better training. I hold mgmt. accountable for that. Since the GM reads these, I am being very purposeful in this comment. When we checked in (great front desk people, valet, bell desk), the room had 2 bottles of body lotion, 1 shampoo, and no conditioner. On the second day, the amenities were correctly serviced by the housekeeper, but they left no bath mat. Whether it is a lack of English comprehension mixed with the fact that the body lotion and conditioner bottles look the same, it is really very simple to fix. Conditioner is 1 word while Body Lotion is 2 words. How hard is that to teach? In general, the housekeeping staff was also very reserved in saying "hi". Hmmmm... they also were not wearing 5/15 badges.

With that said, it was a great hotel and some of the prior negative comments about the property do not appear valid to me. The rooms were not dated or out of style. There was a refrigerator in our room and I think that is the case for everyone as it is underneath the flat screen TV. The bed was very comfortable with a nice, thick comforter, and GREAT pillows.

We ate at the Degrees lounge and had absolutely great food and service from the bartender whose name I cannot remember, but he must be regular because he was there 2 evenings in a row. :>) Try the ahi natchos, for a real treat. They will not be what you expect, but WOW! Oh, and this is one of the 1st restaurants in a long time that understands serving pupus in even numbers. Ever try to split that 3rd piece of a 2" bite?

You can either walk to Disneyland (if you're Deutsche and get that joke) or you can take the ART bus. It stops right in front of the Marriott and just goes back and forth between the hotel and Disneyland. Check with the Marriott gift shop about multi-day ART passes if you are there for more than 1 day. It was definitely worth the money after walking miles through Disneyland every day. The bus does leave early on Magic Morning days and we easily got there in time to join everyone else in line waiting for the park to open.

There are also taxis on the property and will pick you up in a minute if you ask the staff to call them.

Again, excellent, friendly staff, very good rooms and bedding, and "I'll be back" as the ex-governator would say.

Room Tip: Ask for a very high room (floor 16-17) facing Disneyland (oasis tower) if you want to see the nightl...

We moved to the Marriott from another hotel after a bad experience during a recent trip to Disneyland with our son. Boy were we impressed! Let me tell you about a number of great things:
1. Lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas.
2. Starbucks and Pizza Hut in the hotel--great for families.
3. Extremely well stocked gift shop with lots of snacks, drinks, etc. at reasonable prices.
4. The pool and hot tub were great.
5. Staff were extremely helpful and knowledgable.
6. The shuttle to the parks was easy to navigate and very convenient.
7. The room was spacious with comfortable king size bed and lots of room for a cot for our son.
8. Our son loved the Wii in the lobby where he could meet other kids and play.
9. Walking distance to other shops and restaurants.
Can't say enough good things about this property. Thanks for saving our vacation, Anaheim Marriott. We really appreciated it.

We traveled for 7 days thru CA. This hotel definitely wins the hospitality award! We are Marriott gold members and the hotel definitely treated us like GOLD. (Didn't get this treatment at the JW Marriott in Santa Monica). The property is pretty standard for Marriott. We booked it due to the proximity to the Disney parks. The shuttle bus was available for rides to and from the parks.

To elaborate on why I said the hotel wins the hospitality award:
We were able to check in at 9 am and get to Disney.
A roll away bed was brought immediately to our room so our children didn't have to share a bed.
The Concierge Suite was fabulous for breakfast and snacks and drinks. We didn't eat dinner there even though heavy appetizers (beef tips/salmon/potatoes etc) were available.
Milk and cookies were brought to our room for dessert the first night.
This is all above the standard service you expect from Marriott.

All the employees seemed happy to work at this hotel. When you stay there you feel like management is doing a great job running the show here.

We did eat dinner in the bar one night after a very long day of travel and visiting parks. I would say it was just average. We didn't eat at the Del sol restaurant on site.
